I don't mind them in a curry, when they're soft, but put them in chinese food or even worse, on a pizza and Tel is not a happy boy.
Never had Chinese food I've enjoyed. One in Manchester came closest. Blue something or another I think. Greasey in the UK and horrid in China. Their beef tastes like fish because of their farming standards and the slop they feed them.
I went to a nice one in the northern quarter, on the street with Bluu I think was how it was spelled, I used to live just above it. Mandarin something?
Sweet Mandarin, never been but I have heard it's very good, it's been on a few different TV shows I believe.
That's the one, yeah it was a good one for sure. There were quite a few decent restaurants round there, I say were because I haven't been for a long time and I haven't got a clue if they're still there.
I don't really like the Northern Quarter, it's a bit indie for me, all floors are sticky and every waiter/bartender has a 3ft long beard. They're probably all still there, just less popular now, there's hundreds of new restaurants in town to choose from.
I went to Wings in Manchester and ended up with 2 days of food poisoning. Think I have an intolerance to soy or some other dodgy ingredient they put in. An indian man myself. On said night Rooney and Kompany (with wives) were in adjacent booths.
I once got food poisoning from Dimitri's on Deansgate, nightmare, garlic prawns, 24 hours of Arse-mageddon, I must have lost a stone overnight. Scruffy dump.
Chinese food is hang over food. Chicken curry, fried rice and prawn crackers or chicken chow mein with curry sauce over it
I'm thinking of somewhere else if it's Greek, the one I've got in mind is a below ground tapas restaurant around Deansgate, the place itself doesn't look anything special whatsoever but I had some pickled herrings there which sound rank but were one of the nicest things I've ever eaten.
