Seemed to me like the moon was very bright with an immediate circle, then much further out, a ring. Obviously all cloud etc, but stunning nonetheless.

So those kids that stabbed a mum and daughter to death won't be named... ridiculous. These couple of sickos should be named a shamed, and never out of prison.

I don't think that decision has been made yet, but I agree they should be named!

Yep the halo. It comes about this time of year when there is the right amount of moisture in the air. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/22°_halo

I spend a great deal of my life looking upwards and I regularly see gorgeous circular rainbows around the sun.

Then when I turn my back and water sprays away from me with the sun behind me, I see gorgeous "standard" rainbows.

My working life consists of looking at rainbows. Nice.

Out before they are 30. Protected new identities. Never have to do a days work in their lives.

I understand all the reasons why but that doesn't mean I like it.

I don't accept the argument that they are only kids. May be true for a bit of shoplifting...can grow out of that and be decent adults, but you understand murder at their age. They are evil, damaged people as they show no remorse....they will never be normal....though possibly apart, they may never do such a thing again.

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but has anyone else been watching Scotch! The Story of Whisky ? I've just finished Part 2 and the environment, enthusiasm, romance and love of the true amber nectar comes pouring forth. Veteran Scottish actor David Hayman presents, what is quite obviously, a dear love of the subject and it's his enthusiasm and discovery which helps keep one in rapt attention. I'm going to watch Part 3 at a more appropriate time so that I can sit down with a dram beside me. Probably the best way to make this programme even more enjoyable:
