The 21 players travelling are: Fraser Forster Stuart Taylor Alex McCarthy Cuco Martina José Fonte Jack Stephens Maya Yoshida Virgil van Dijk Sam McQueen Harrison Reed Jordy Clasie James Ward-Prowse Oriol Romeu Steven Davis Pierre-Emile Højbjerg Dušan Tadić Sofiane Boufal Olufela Olomola Shane Long Jay Rodriguez Charlie Austin
Just found out my manager has done me a favour, because of sickness at my place of work I couldn't get out of my late shift tomorrow..so would miss the game But he has called in a favour and got cover so I can watch the game
So from that I would hazard a guess at Forster Martina Fonte Van Dijk McQueen Romeu Hojbjerg Davis Tadic Austin Long
Just realised that Saints are taking on Inter with a squad including 5 academy graduates. The Southampton Way.
Nathan certainly not one of the players i expected to be left out with Puel's obvious faith in him. Sadly it was obvious about Matty and Ryan, other than that a full side heading out to Italy. Another fantastic performance please Sam McQueen, if playing at the San Siro doesn't fire you up nothing will. Agreed with saintsfcfan's team prediction, but could a major factor here be that Boufal is ready and travelling to fill the boots of Redmond? What a debut that could be In Puel We Trust
Think someone commented that Redmond was seen with an ice pack after the Burnley match - hopefully ok for Sunday
Didn't someone say he had an ice pack on his leg after the Burnley match. Maybe something slight, but just needs recovery time.
That was me. With such a full programme, no player will be risked. Targett was perhaps brought back too soon and didn't last much on Sunday.
http://www.sempreinter.com/2016/10/19/who-are-southampton/ Review of Southampton from an Inter fan. Inter apparently have a defence that do not like pace and have a disorganized attack....just how we like 'em.
Indeed. A player need not even be injured or have any loss of form, just that his fitness and perfomance indicators may demand that a rest is required. We've seen a Saints video including this very subject.
What a clear and detailed article on Saints. The author certainly did the research. A very pleasant change from some of the inaccurate dross we often get written about us. As an example, only a few days ago I was reading an article on two players that the author thought Saints should loan out asap. One of them was Jeremy Pied. How about that for not checking your facts?
