Have I missed a post where it says we have to keep on topic then?

Afternoon all from O'Neils Winchester. Who wants an end to finishing? Breakfast debates/morning all threads are notorious, for going off topic

I would keep morning threads football only, that's just me. I'd rather have two pages of quality football related chat than 8 pages of crap

Some of the troops have indicated that banter is ruining their enjoyment. I am trying to be an equal opportunity barsteward by taking on board the idea. Seems the place is suffering a decline in posts since I started (not just my output). to me the place is as much a meeting point and banter spot as a footie site but what do I know?

Sounds amazing - slight problem is we don't get 2 pages of quality football debate, we get the same opinions from the same people day after day (before WJ jumps on me, there are some exceptions) - actually got no problem with that but have to agree I find that stale - but that's just me.

Only relaying and slightly paraphrasing what was said to me by others here.
You know me, I only ever want a quiet life and try to fit in with what everyone else wants..

What do you find stale, the repetitive footie chat, the banter, or both?
Can't leave it all to Matt, what do we do to improve the place (apart from me fecking off of course)?

afternoon all ... Roofe for Mowatt makes sense, he has a natural tendency to want to get forward so will provide support for Wood in the box ... when he outplayed Swansea in the FA Cup in January he was on the left and cutting in onto his strong foot, caused Swansea all sorts of bother

here's another thought ... move Hernandez out left, he will naturally drift in onto his strong foot and link play, leaving room wide for Taylor ... Hernandez coming infield will also confuse their holding mid ... put Antonsson in the 10 role, and he will push naturally into the box, giving us more strike power ... Antonsson in the 10 role will also get opportunities to flash some shots at goal from outside the area, adding to the pressure on Wigan

we will soon find out what Monk's thinking is, and how the players have looked in training ... the option mentioned of Berardi at left back with Taylor wide left is also a very good one, and it can be effective ... defensively it would be very strong, only thing is Berardi is not that keen on going far beyond the halfway line, so Monk will need to encourage him to get a nosebleed

Leeds have to win this one, and Wigan will be aware of the pressure on the home team to get a positive result ... they will happily take 0-0 at half time, breaking the game up and keeping it scrappy so that Elland Road starts getting anxious ... oh for an early goal to settle the boys down

fully agree "Risty" ... not fun when a good thread turns into a lot of rubbish ... surely we can have a schoolyard thread where people can call each other out from a football thread to continue whatever they want to

The repetitive footie chat not the banter I enjoy that but then I am shallow. My view is, you don't rate Dallas I do - we can repeat that daily and I don't think it adds a jot more than, let's say, Shaks mentioning that he is on a record breaking Cider binge! I agree Matt does more than his fair share and is well licked by Parsley for it.
