Listening to Giggs and G Neville on SS1 talking about the Utd v Pool game, I still think we've got the wrong bloke tbh :(

Roof Try and accept that Laudcrap and Guildo are not here any more and are history. You and everyone else and the man in the moon wont have a clue what they would do against Watford.......Bob is the new boss now and in Bob we must trust for a number of games yet before you can rubbish him, There will be nobody more than me slating him if we dont improve i can tell you but with just one game under his belt after very little time to prepare then i saw some improvements or should i say liked what he was trying to do and nobody will go to the Arsenal this season and dominate that's for sure....Our stats matched them and we even had more passes than them and that is unheard of against the Gunners.....We like them missed chances and that is an improvement from having no chances at all like we have been doing......I like what i hear and see from Bob so far but it is still too early to judge him and only time will tell....

Its got everything to do with a new manager having one game under his belt IMO .
Having statements like " This is a must win" situation ,after one game , is part to do with having 4 managers in 30 games .
If we get no points in Bradleys first 4 games , do we ditch him and get a 5th manager in the space of 38 games ..the equivalent of a season .

Your argument is rather obtuse. The point that's being made - rightly in my view - is that the fans are less concerned about Bradley's position because there's always the argument that he's only just arrived, but we need points agains 'lesser' opposition like Watford because of the precarious position we're in. That's why the phrase 'must win' is being used I guess.

The feedback from the fans I'm seeing is that it's the points that matter and I can't see an argument against that. Seems an eminently sensible position to me.

If we win, Bradley gets a pat on the back and, much more importantly, we start to climb out of trouble. If we lose we're in a real pickle but Bradley probably won't suffer too much damage because it's early days for him - unless it's a thumping which I don't see happening.

It's not a must win for the manager it's a must win because we NEED the bloody points. You are saying Everton is the key game? They'll ****ing stuff us at this rate.

You are right Valley, but I doubt whether you get through, by roofs reckoning it doesn't matter if we don't win for another 3 games that would be 4 points from 12 games, that's going to keep us up. This is a 100% must win game if we want to stay up, we have to get back into a winning way/mentality, the longer we go without a win the harder it will be to get one. we have to start winning again straight away and it has to start with Saturday.

I am expecting something similar, maybe a little watered down in my case. But the post is correct as far as I am concerned.

Who says it doesn't matter if we don't win in our next 3 games , only that they are not " Must Wins "...
We are 8 games into the season , our current manager is about to manage his 2nd game . 4 of those 8 games were against 4 of the 5 top teams .
We have had 4 managers and 2 different owners in the past 30 games .
These next few games aren't must win games , they are must stabilize games for the new manager and his players ... players with manager , board and ownership ripping them into different directions over the past 30 or so games .
Calling these games " Must Wins " disrespects games like beating Hull to stay in the leagues .
I'm afraid our problems stem much further back than these next few games '
Bony and Allen didn't wanna come back ..Why ?
Gomis didn't even attempt an effort at the end . Now he has 6 goals in his last 7 games ...Why ?
Nobody wanted to manage us after Monk was sacked ( not even Rodgers) ...Why ?
We aren't the darlings of the Premier anymore ...Why .
Good questions for who runs things IMO.

Roof, after 11 matches last season, the bottom 5 in the PL were as follows:

    16th Norwich 9pts

    17th Bournemouth 8pts

    18th Newcastle 7pts

    19th Sunderland 6pts

    20th Aston Villa 4pts

So the 3 Clubs eventually relegated were in the Bottom 5.

    Losing becomes a habit.

Being in the relegation zone weighs down on players, managers & fans alike.

Yes - if we don't beat Watford, we will not be relegated on Saturday ...... but, you know what, if we lose to Watford, how many on here would expect us to stay up at the end of the season, based on what we have witnessed so far?

Agreed Taff. This is a game we should be winning, and questions will be asked if we don't.

OK, I know I'll get the hairdyer treatment but here goes...

"These next few games aren't must win games , they are must stabilize games". What? What's a 'must stabilize game'? A game we get a good result maybe? We're not going to stabilize by losing are we?

"Calling these games " Must Wins " disrespects games like beating Hull" I don't follow that either. Sorry. It's me, not you.

"Bony and Allen didn't wanna come back ..Why" Who says they didn't want to come back? Allen did by all accounts, though we didn't go for him (yes, that was our fault) and Bony would have taken a massive pay cut. There may be any number of personal reasons he had that we don't even know about. We're not to blame for everything you know.

"Gomis didn't even attempt an effort at the end . Now he has 6 goals in his last 7 games ...Why" Different standard league? Lack of effort? He had a good patch here too.

"Nobody wanted to manage us after Monk was sacked ( not even Rodgers) ...Why" Who says?

"We aren't the darlings of the Premier anymore ...Why"
Because we're an established team. The 'darlings' tag wore out after a couple of seasons.

I agree that things on the pitch and maybe moreso behind the scenes aren't great right now but I can't see how this stuff is getting us anywhere as fans. The best we can do is get behind the Manager (something you're always banging on about) and hope he gets this team playing again.

New manager or not Watford is a game I would expect us to win and the sooner we start winning the more confident and better we will become. Why is Gomis scoring in the French league when he couldn't for us. The answer is obvious the French league is less competitive and the managers in the PL knew how to cope with him.

I am glad you did this as It was far to much typing, but all your points are right. I don't care what anyone says, Saturday is possibly the most important game for us since we have been in the PL and then it will carryon to every week if we want to stay up.

Ayew scored his most goals when he left the French League and came to the Premier Sugarman . I don't buy into the different League theory that much , although I'm sure I'm in the minority . Also , I don't put great expectations on a manager who is about to manage his 2nd game with a new club ...I do however put much hope and prayer into a positive result ...I'll be happy with improvement each game for the next few

You're also forgetting that Gomis had a purple patch here too.

As for Bradley I don't think anyone is putting too much expectation him. As you say, 2nd game in.
