I think Brady has scored 2 free kicks for Ireland never seen Wes score one like that and Jacob Murphy ?
A snippet from the report on Aberdeen V Ross County - "The Dingwall club did have a real let-off of their own after Marcus Fraser was booked for tripping Jonny Hayes and James Maddison's sublime free-kick was headed in by Adam Rooney from an offside position." I''d love to see Maddison back here and playing regularly for us, but my problem is - who is going to make way for him????
Radio reporters were praising the link up play and understanding between Wessi and Pritchard, who was making his first league start, don't forget. Which makes it more awkward still to accommodate Maddison if those two are firing
Totall agree Cromer and I was at the game yesterday and witnessed it first hand. Yet I agreed with the fa sitting next to me when he queried how it would work with both being on teh pitch at the same time
Only bad news is Remi Matthews has picked up an injury which rules him out for several months, I think he's back with us for treatment. Declan Rudd made a sublime double stop this weekend for Charlton, and seemed to be keeping them in the match at times from what I've read.
Dundee probably reminds him of his childhood on the Côte d’Azur! Going well, but can't see him ever being a part of our first team plans.
I'd agree with that, as there are several other players ahead of him and wouldn't be surprised to see him released in January.
I can't really see any other outcome. He may be getting game time, which is usually the reason for loaning players out, but he's still unlikely to displace the current crop. We're apparently paying all his wages, and we're not going to want to do that indefinitely.
I don't know how long the lone period is, but on current form I think at least we should be able to get most of his wages stumped up if not sell him on. I guess that would be dependant like a number of our squad players on whether anyone can match what he's on here. Bah!
It's a year-long loan, so we're committed to stumping up his wages until the end of the season, after which he has another year on his contract here. Seems a lot of money down the toilet for someone who's unlikely to figure for us.
Yes, that does seem like quite a waste of money, but at least we didn't pay too much for him. Perhaps we can offload him in the summer along with Whittaker!!!!
Bloomin eck! We appear to be operating as some sort of charity. I can't believe we would send him out on loan for a whole season whilst paying all of his wages! that's incredibly poor business if true. At least on shorter term loans he could have attracted interest in someone who might buy him or at least stump up the majority of his wages. And remember it may not be so easy to get rid of him or WHittaker in the summer, as they may well have pay rises in the event of promotion. Bah!
I see where you are coming from but if my memory serves me well it was a deal arranged at the end of the window so Clubs were not queuing round the block to take him on loan and pay his wages. In that situation it is surely better to let him play regularly with a recall clause than sit around down here serving no purpose.
It's a weird situation paying someone's wages to work elsewhere, especially for an older player who presumably wasn't bought for the future? Maybe his purchase was a sweetener for Hamilton, or maybe someone just got it wrong? Still, we've made bigger, more costly errors!
Man Utd paid how much for Pogba after letting him go for a pittance? The fact is that ALL clubs make bad decisions, the skill is keeping those bad decisions to a minimum, and at the reported £1m for him it is hardly catastrophic, but almost certainly part of the deal bringing AN to the club.
I don't think you can compare our dealings with those of Man Utd, and anyway, Pogba let his contract run down. I certainly don't see it as catastrophic, merely a little odd. As I intimated, we HAVE made bad decisions, and above our means at that.
