If you cannot win make sure you don't lose <ok>

A point, given our normal record against them at Anfield, is not bad.

    We move on.

Sturridge is toast imo. Would like to see Ings get his chance....any injury up front and Mane being off to Africa Cup should open the door for him.....surely?

It looks like Firmino and Origi are ahead of Ings. I really wouldn't be surprised if we do sell him in January - apparently there was an offer of £15-20m in the summer. Think we could get even more in Jan.

    When was that?

The delusion seems to have moved up the road.

This result should not be a surprise to anyone. Was out with my manc boss and called 0-0 before the game, despite our defensive weaknesses, Mourinho chose not to attack. 2 points off top and a week's rest and preparation....unlike the others who have to play in Europe. Unbeaten against our main rivals. Nothing has changed. <ok>

Origi is not on his game at all. Shame really, I thought he made real progress in the latter half of last season. Ings isn't pacey enough for Klopp perhaps?

Imo as of now i would put ings on the bench ahead of sturridge.

At least ings would apply the press with gusto.

It's not just the press - it's the constant movement to drag defenders out of position and create space.

To be fair to Sturridge - he was isolated last night and he's been constantly in and out of the team. Maybe he needs a goal to get him back.

it was a struggle to watch last night im not going get into united, they can play how they want, and its up to us to adapt.

The changes we made just didnt work, can was ponderous and studge was isolated. Henderson yet again, started to pass the ball back every time even under the slightest of pressure. I think nerves got to them, more than anything, i havent seen so many wayward passes and wrong decisions in a long time.

Onwards and upwards, 4th position, within 2 points of the top. ill take that all day long at this point.

Its a constant theme, i think ive saids before, he is not who we need in that position, he panics and takes the easy option. it was 1 of many areas of frustration last night

He and Can were both poor - only one of them should be playing in midfield and I would choose Can, with Gini/Lallana/Coutinho ahead of him.

We just didn't have that slickness in midfield and being able to take the ball on the half turn and attacking.

Eh? That was the end of November. By that time we had already lost 3-1 to your lot and sacked Brenda.

Im not sure either are what we want, neither are good enough on the ball to be the instigator we need. When fit and firing, can is the first choice at the moment, but in tight games, neither fill me with confidence

Can has been injured and struggled with fitness all season, this was his first 90 minutes, no? He clearly wasn't match sharp and needs a hair cut.
Also, Wijnaldum and Lallana have been in great form, but neither started. We looked lively when Lallana came on though.
As for Henderson, felt like he needed shooting with the amount of back passes

Fair point - I think defensively , Can offers more and should be the DM. I hope we sign someone like Dahoud in January.
