I don't think I have ever read one lucid articulated Lansdown out post on this forum. Mr Lansdown clearly has the overwhelming support of Bristol City supporters.
I questioned the sense in spending all that money on a new stadium when we couldn't fill the old one. I also questioned the appointment of LJ - and Steve Cottrill. However I am grateful that he sees fit to spend his money on our club.
Articulate? Lucid? I have yet to read anything on this forum, others, in fanzines etc that has defined a sensible alternative to somebody who has had the overwhelming backing of fans for over a decade. Even the moving of BCFC's main asset into another company was not opposed by fans, or the smaller % of fans who own shares in BCFC.
“I love these fixtures – it’s under the lights, it’s live on Sky and there’s a pantomime that goes along with the game" quote from LEE
Tonight we must be on the ball from the whistle... Nellie will have his sights set on an early goal or even 2 and close up shop. Analysis of his first games with Rotherham a far less talented team than Cardiff. he won 6 and drew 2 a win either side of our draw against teams in the top 8 he won 5 drew 1 of them. Only conceding 6 goals and 3 of them were against Derby! T O U G H G A M E ..... YOU BET IT WILL BE coyr
Bit crap really. Good drink in Canton good atmosphere in the pub before the game. Match kicks off it all drops and a Warnock predictable second half of dive feign death time waste squabble repeat and a bloke taking long throw ins to bore all leaving people to think was it worth the ££'s and effort .
The Severnside derby has lost a bit (virtually all) of its edge it could be just another away game except for the amount of lads it attracts from Bristol/West Country and the constant attention of the Heddlu. Atmosphere was benign in the ground, dull perhaps again and the Dinosaur Warnock's appearance didn't change that apart from the occasional profane chant. Ashton Gate v New Ninnies. Now the redevelopment here is finished. Ashton Gate is far superior. And does not have a blue stand!!! Hopefully next season there is A/ Trains and no bubble B/ A true football match breaks out.
Oh no, not another pissing contest over the respective grounds for goodness sake. We wish you well with your improved (if not new) stadium, it certainly needed it. It looks very nice from the images I've seen, whether it's "better" or not we'll leave to the pedants who tend to get off on the subject. As for the game on Friday, you must have got cloth ears if you think there was a subdued atmosphere in the ground. There are always quieter moments during any game, but from my expereince of the Ashton Gate Library of the recent past, you've got a bloody cheek. Yet another one who must have seen his team lose and can't bear to admit there was a gulf in the desire and passion of those on and off the pitch.
Team done well Sparky, I did like the look of Swansea, a good bet for Premier mid table finish, a good top Welsh side .
I agree with the second part of that wholeheartedly wizey - they are clearly the top Welsh side at the mo, but I think you've got the first part wrong. They are going to struggle this season with their new Yankie owners and manager. If they stay up they'll have done well let alone finish mid table.
Pissing contest.!!!! The revelopment of 3/4 of Ashton Gate is top notch. Mr Lansdown has no lunatic qualities think we can allow him his David James moment. Canton was a decent drink Shepherds Bush will be a better one. Still would not want Warnock around Ashton Gate.
Probably a good job you haven't got him then. Also I never said the Ashton Gate redevelopment wasn't top notch - another one who gets the wrong end of the stick. Comparing stadiums is a pointless business.
comparing stadiums is a good idea. Ashton Gate will not be the best or worst but it has avoided parts of the worst over the bridge. Win lose draw would want widow twanky and Vincent Tan around Bristol City. Both are capable of anything from getting games abandoned to be being downright weird and Tan is that.
Ah well RA and Clifton, time to put those deep seated prejudices away for a few months it's game over for now - we won and you lost. It's time to move on and the next game is all that matters now, not the last one. Perhaps we can resume this happy chat for the return game in January - I wonder what our respective table positions will be then eh?
.... The bitterness is excellent lads. "Our stadium is better than yours, ner ner ner" . I wonder if Bamba has taken Abraham out of his pocket yet!
Yeah we get it, you beat us, you were the better team on the day, you had the best player on the pitch on the day, but lets not get head of ourselves. We're still sat in a play off place whilst you are just managed to clamber out of the relegation zone.
There's no malice in Jay's post there L - it's just a bit of fun. It looks like the malice is all over there to be honest. You're spot on about the league positions and we don't dispute that. The point is we can only get better, but can you? Let's see where we both are when we meet again in January, OK?
I don't think many people expected you to struggle so badly so an improvement to beat us once Warnock has taken over wasn't a shock. You hope you can only get better and to be honest you probably will as you shouldn't be down there, but I guess we know more once the Warnock bounce has subsided. As for us, its very seldom that we go through a season without hitting a flat spot, if we are still challenging come May then that will be a great season. I'm just happy that at the moment a defeat doesn't start me panicking and looking nervously at the relegation zone.
