Company's need to adapt to the changes. Many are making massive profits from it,lets just make up an example.Eire grows and sells Potatoes,he grows them in Leeds and sells them in the USA for $5 Dollars a bag,his profit is $3 after he's paid OLOF for doing the work and transport costs, when he changes his $ back into £ he has made an extra 20% profit due to exchange rate changes.Unilever who make a lot of products here and export a lot will be making extra profit on exports but greed made them want it both ways. The way to make big money ATM is with exports outside Europe,if you want to survive the changing times you might have to look into that. PS do you think Unilever will have cut prices of exports by 10% don't forget the biggest cost in business is labour costs, and in export terms they have gone down big time.
Respect your point of view but there is the option of not supplying the supermarkets. We have had approaches to supply and would, undoubtedly grow very quickly but at what point would they "own" my business? There is nothing that I cannot buy elsewhere than, say, Tescos and I actively buy as little as possible from them. Our local butcher, farm shop, fish van, chemists and paper shop are all thriving because I think more and more people realise there is a real choice to make. A local farm have now opened an artisan bakery too so they can diversify. Before anyone says "it's ok if you can afford it" take this challenge. Buy a piece of meat from your butchers and the same size piece from any supermarket. Supermarket will be cheaper per lb or kilo. Cook them both the same, weigh what you have in terms of good meat and do the sum again! I would far rather support these sorts of guys and pay them a bit more so they do not fold or succumb to the supermarket temptation - I couldn't give a to$$ if a jar of marmite is twenty pence more in the local corner shop, it's not like I buy 100's of jars of the stuff!! Grow your own and buy British
Buy British, train British, employ British the rest of Europe look after their own first,we need to learn to do this.
Sounds to me like you said they would be 'going bust', maybe not in so many words, but the inference is there.
In other news the BBC yesterday introduced Nicola Sturgeon while showing a picture of a Gorilla it took quite a while to notice it wasn't her, they did apologise to the Gorilla later.
You remember Boris Johnson the leader of the brexit campaign? He had some very good arguments about leaving the eu and you can read them in todays sunday times! Your views on Thatcher are 100% wrong, the only good thing she did was die slowly.
That conclusion being it means "i can oust and replace cameron". He was only half right and all the risks he highlighted are coming to pass.
Even if i whisper it you would still be wrong about the corrupt, vicious, vindictive, divisive dead old cnut.
And even if you shout it, you ain't causing a row in this empty room. No victims, no bannings, no this site needs me toys out of pram, simply, you are right because you say so. Cool - enjoy the rest of your weekend. And just for the sake of even handedness, go back and read what I actually said, no heroine of mine but I try and see things with open eyes.
Open em wider mate.... Not falling out, not fishing... That bitch set this country at war with itself and it has never recovered.
