Where did I say that was ok? My daughter's weren't out at 4 am at 15 years old and yes it's tragic. Being involved in a culture where guns is normal is tragic. It's all very sad and I hope lessons are learned.
I know you didn't say that. I wasn't meaning to accuse you. However, there seems to be an undertone on here that he should receive less sympathy because he cheated. Two separate issues really.

The implication was that the girl was out at abnormal times and was therefore running the risk of being shot. Of course she shouldn't have been out at that hour at her age. But I look upon it that, for such and apparently advanced country, the USA ought to be able to demonstrate to the World how safe and civilised it is. Instead of which, it is regularly barbaric, and deadly.
Plus, not sure about anyone else, but at 15 if I could have somehow blagged a night out at 5am I certainly would have! We don't know the circumstances, and that part of it bears no relevance to it's horror.
Certainly a 15 year old girl should not be out on her own at 4 am...anywhere in the wide world. I would suggest though that any girl of that age if she felt determined enough and resourceful enough. It could happen, certainly was on the cards a few times with my girls, except for their dads resilience. Convincing young ladies of the dangers and stupidness of such behaviour was not the easiest. Now both had to go through their own night mares with their own children, thankfully successfully. I feel for the family......I cannot imagine what would it be like to lose a child simply because of an era of judgement, or at all come to that, era or no.
