I cannot see how he fits into the team. He is useless on the wing and cant play the role Cairney is asked to play. He needs to play at the tip of a diamond midfield or behind the front 2 in a 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 formation. Might aswell sell him for a fee if we can't get the best out if him.

He may be our best player but he does not suit the system we are playing. We are not getting the best out of him. Most of the time it looks like we are playing with 10 men when he plays on the wing.

The trouble with Koren, the WBA fans said when we signed him, is that he doesn't want to be on the wings. He considers himself a CM, but we don't seem to want him in the middle. I wouldn't mind seeing him at the top of a diamond to be fair. Might have been more effective when Blackpool were breaking up the play as they did last night.

It was the selling him part I found hard to believe.

We have next to knack all when it comes to creativity in midfield so I can't see how the notion of selling one of our few creative players can be taken seriously.

    That is all.

I've said this many times in the past, but the trouble with Koren is that if you are going to play him the whole of the team structure must be fitted to suit him; he is that specialised.

He doesn't like plaing on the wing but he will not/can not put a tackle in in midfield.

The only productive place to play him is behind an attacking pair. The problem with that is that you lose width and it leaves one of your full-backs exposed.

The alternative is to play 4-2-3-1 like many did at the WC last year, but then you need an accomplished lone striker (like Grant Holt for example) , and we don't have one. Under the current regime it is best to play him wide. He might not like it and he might disappear in games, but at least there he won't knacker the central midfield.

I hated Koren last night. Absolutely bloody useless. Non existent for the whole 90 mins. I think he made one contribution which was playing McKenna in before he got taken out. To be honest, I can't wait till Stewarts back so we can drop him.

The annoying thing about Koren is how he drifts in and out of games when he is one of those players who can add a touch of class to the game. I agree with Berstein where putting him in CM might be worth a shot at some point.

No it wouldn't. Not at all. He who would you replace? I wouldn't play him ahead of McKenna, Cairney, Harper or even Evans in centre mid. Just because the other 4 will get involved a lot more than he would. When Stewart comes back I don't think he'll get into the team and he won't have anyone to blame but himself.

We need 1 decent quality central midfielder. This would afford us the opportunity to play Koren alongside him. Koren is the most naturally gifted player in our squad. I agree, at present, we don't have the players of quality to fit around him, and it doesn't work with him in the middle. With a quality defensive/combative player in the middle with him, Koren would be awesome. But I do appreciate that these kind of players aren't easily found/bought.

If that's where his best form for WBA came from then it's worth a shot. We'll change the side most games to suit our opponents. If it doesn't work then fair enough but it could be worth a try. With the form of Brady and the return of Stewart i doubt we'll see him on the wing come October. The prospect of having Stewart and Brady as wingers is an exciting prospect.

We played him centre mid a couple of times last season and he looked very poor. Vanished even more than he does on the wing. With Stewart coming back, assuming we keep everyone fit and theres no suspensions, I honestly can't see him playing many. I wouldn't change the whole team after a good performance like last night (we did play well, we just couldn't finish) just to accommodate one player who could try harder in games.

We have absolutely nothing in the middle of the park. Blackpool played straight through us many times last night. We created chances last night, but the 2 problems from last season remain - no central midfield, no killer instinct up front.
