Alright guys. I was quite interested to see this new push for a better atmosphere develop tonight ever since I heard the news about the Ulltras forming a group. I saw the banner but i heard nothing really significant. Just the same chants of old and at times the crowd were completely silent. That's not how it's suppose to be !! In other countries you can't even here the away fans when they score a goal because the home crowd just carry on regardless. Never mind, it was a first try of the thing and i'm sure it will get better as time goes on. We got to just keep at it and then we'll get there.
Where was the banner... I was in the east stand... so no surprise I didn't see it... but I did think there would have been more from them.
It was over E3 - I think its that section - covering one of the back advertising boards. It was covered mainly throughout the match because it was behind them and they stood up covering a lot of it
Yeah it was at the back of E3, i was over in E1 and could only really see it up until the match started
I was in E3 and was sat down and couldn't see the banner, was just the same chants repeated over and over again, same as last year, not even any new ones for the 4 or 5 new players that played tonight! Blackpool outplayed, and more importantly outsung us tonight...
That's the thing i've noticed for years, as hull fans.. all we do is sing the same few songs over and over, barely having our own songs at all either... get the bouncing, get the flares, get the singing all game, get the rocking! come onnnn
Was at the top of e2 again tonight and the 'ulltras' couldn't be seen or heard yet again it was the same lads in e1/2 trying to get a few chants going but theres simply not enough people opening their mouths
Our songs are piss poor! Theres no individual songs at all in kempton nearly every player had a chant before the game now its crap. Silverware dosnt work at home games I hope we sign big jan, geo, moyokolalo and campbell on loan just so weve got some songs! ****e really is ****e at the minute
Completely agree with this. We never sing for our players any more. That said Blackpool weren't much for original, they had the same song for every player, and every one of our players was a 'Preston reject', started off with McKenna but they ended up singing it to Cairney and Koren for some reason.
I heard them loud and clear on the tv. They were in the north stand, right? Not sure why they started calling McKenna a winker so early on in his City career mind.
I was sat right next to the banner, and the first thing I noticed was that nobody can even see it when everyone in Row FF (the row furthest back) stands up. For the first half an hour, I thought the fans - like the team - were excellent, but over the rest of the game got worse and fell into the same old ways.
I thought the City fans were good in the first half, maybe not so in the second half because watching us go through one on one with their keeper and miss on each occassion was quite frustrating. Good bit of banter between the fans. Certainly have been worse than that. I didn't see the banner.
I think the main problem is that a lot of fans find it hard to ignore what's happening on the pitch. A lot of the time the atmosphere will just reflect the swing of the match i.e. if were winning it will be an alright atmosphere (not a brilliant atmosphere but nevertheless alright) and if we're losing and not playing exciting football , then the crowd goes extremely quiet. But it can and should work the other way round in that if good support is given all match then the players should improve playing and not be as nervous as they might be if the crowd keep moaning and groaning at every decision. On the whole I think the crowd play a more important role than anything else that is discussed frequently on this site such as formation , tactics , who is playing were and all that sort of talk.
Yeah, don't worry about who NP selects, where he plays them, or what he asks of them - as long as we have some original songs we should win... Hull City Boys, get a grip lad.
