Given that Burnley seem to like sitting back, in order to frustrate, this is one of those games when we definitely don't want to concede the first goal. I think this would be a good opportunity for McQueen to start, as the pace he has, going forward, could be key to getting behind them. Likewise Cuco on the other wing. Width could be all important, as I think Burnley will be more than happy to overload the middle.
One of those games where an early goal probably will make a huge difference. I'd expect us to dominate the game, create a fair few chances, and probably win by a nice little margin if we score early. But otherwise it could be quite a dour, difficult game to watch, with very few chances created and a risk of being done by a smash and grab, either on the counter or from a set piece. Whilst we can play nice football, we don't really have the quality to breakdown a side who keep men behind the ball and are drilled well defensively.
SAINTS: Forster; Martina, Fonte, Van Dijk, Targett; Romeu; Clasie, Davis; Tadic; Austin, Redmond. Bench: McCarthy, Yoshida, McQueen, Højbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Long, Rodriguez.
Oh no, I saw you went first. I was just putting it in position order as I can't abide teamsheets in numerical order!
Good to see both Jrod & Long on the bench. Boufal can make his debut at the San Siro Liking the team too... Come on Saints!!
Everyone round to Frans, although it will be Monday lunchtime for me from here. Good job I like leftovers?
