Shhhh!! Naismith is sh*t apparently. Stop saying good things! We have to focus on the bad bits, apparently.
You're still not getting it are you? Jerome puts in 100% effort every game, I have never seen that from Naismith. I take full responsibility for not digging up Gran earlier, she had a fierce right foot!!
Captain hindsight hinting that he knew Naismith would score so anyone judging him on his horrible form from February up until today should feel bad about doubting him. Ignoring relegation and patchy lazy performances today he scored.
Yea. I get it. Jerome plays 90 minutes nearly every single game because we didn't sign the striker we needed. So he has to work out of his skin. Coz 1 striker up front is a thankless task. Naismith was used as a right wingers every game but 1. Where he is covered and overlapped. So doesn't have to do stupid amounts of work. Because we have plenty of Midfielders and attacking midfielders. Therefore the roles they have to do are totally different. So yes, looks like Jerome works harder. (I don't think Naismith is great by the way, I just think he doesn't deserve quiet the weight of sh*t he gets. Especially today. He did a perfect job today)
If you are hinting that at me, I stopped making score, team and scorer predictions a fair few games ago. Coz every time I was right, you moaned it was hindsight. I think you get a bit confused. Coz Predictions are pretty much the opposite. And I said nothing about Naismith, before the game. You said you said he'd score. It's a bit like your mind is breaking. I'm not Tyler Durnen.
I think he should have to do WHATEVER is necessary to support Jerome, he hasn't, he's not a grafter, not skilful and throws himself to the ground far to often, apart from that he decidedly average.
It's amusing reading this afterwards. While not claiming any of DD's immense foresight, I had a pretty good idea about how Naismith's entry would be greeted and sure enough, I wasn't disappointed. His goal came at a crucial point to wipe out the usual 'we can't hold on to a lead' comments, although ILD was at least able to commend AN's bringing on attacking players to see the game out. As for Naismith's goal, it was hardly a tap in as he came in with a well timed run and side-footed it into the net. Jerome's was also skilfully taken and both goals were a pleasure to see after the number of chances that had gone astray. My views on Naismith are similar to Woodbine's. He isn't a work-rate player but he does work hard to create space and chances. This season he has 3 goals in 7 appearances (two as sub), which is a more than reasonable rate for an AM (once again, he is not a striker). I'm glad we have him.
*have You're welcome. I've taught literacy, so hit me up if you're interested. Payment in a stable currency, please. (Euros accepted, Sterling, not - I thank you)
Loads of goals are scored from that distance and many strikers have built their reputations on doing it. When these strikers do it people say it is positional sense and speed in getting to the right place at the right time - when Naismith does it you call it s****e!! FFS get off his back - it is getting boring!!
I'm loathe to get on Naismith's back, because it doesn't achieve anything. I have to say, though, I find the Naismith apologists a little boring. He's really not that good, and he cost way more than he is worth (in my opinion). The manager seems to agree, and maybe a (late) sub is where he is just now.
