Obrien never has the European Champion 3yo for all his domination, the forces dont allow it, it wouldnt be fair.

Guineas, Derby, Eclipse, King George, Juddmonte, Irish Champion, Arc, Champion Stakes

2 of them he won this year, its hardly Mullins style domination of the only meeting that matters in Jumps racing.

Might be wrong but I'd be surprised should Thistlecrack even turn out to be Tizzard's best Gold Cup chance come March! So much to prove this season in a new discipline against much better horses than those he was stuffing last season but we shall see. Least Tizzard wont be scared to dip him into deep waters the way he's talking but he's as bonkers an antepost GC fav I've seen!

Chantilly a 'dog track', don't be so bloody ridiculous Kaiser. You obviously haven't been to many dog tracks.
You make as many gaffes as your idol does, and, brother, he makes a few.

Apropos NH racing. Would it be fair to say some of you NH enthusiasts are a bit 'county set' stuck-up? No? Oh well, good night! <laugh>

(Only encountered the so-called 'county set' once in my life, the Norfolk variety at a Fakenham meeting. What a bunch of ****ing clowns. I would doubt the Wiltshire specimens are any different. Again, good night).

I really like the look of Philip Hobbs' juvenile Defi Du Seuil today - I think he could make up in to a Triumph Hurdle horse, very classy but still raw. Definitely in good hands <ok>

BHA plays down Champions Day referrals
    BY LEWIS PORTEOUS 8:30PM 15 OCT 2016

THE BHA on Saturday described as "innocuous" three cases of trainers, including Jean-Claude Rouget who won the Qipco Champion Stakes with Almanzor, being referred by stewards to its London headquarters after their employees were found in possession of non-permitted substances in Ascot's stables.

Stewards reported an employee of Rouget's "had brought into the stables an allowable substance without the permission of the veterinary officer".

Those comments were also applied to members of Hugo Palmer and Francois Rohaut's teams, although stewards also reported their staff "brought unallowable substances into the stables".

The horses attached to those yards - Signs Of Blessing (Rohaut), Architecture and Galileo Gold (both Palmer), along with Almanzor - were routine tested, but BHA officials played down the findings.

"The random inspections found instances of substances which shouldn't have been present on raceday, but they are innocuous cases and it's not something which is causing us undue concern," said spokesman Robin Mounsey.

"Mostly the substances were electrolytes, which are permitted to be carried on racedays to be used post-race, but only if permission is sought in advance - in these cases permission wasn't sought.

"The other substance discovered was a commonly used medication, which is permitted in training but not on raceday."

Mounsey added: "There was no evidence that the substances had been administered on the day, but they should not have been present in the stables. All horses involved have been routine tested and the incidents referred to BHA head office for further action if appropriate."

James Fanshawe, who won the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes with The Tin Man and saddled Speedy Boarding to finish second in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes, was also referred to the BHA's Holburn base after stewards deemed he may have breech rules relating to restrictions of horses on racecourses.

Let me see – as a three year old, La Cressonniere has won two Group 1 races whilst Minding has won five. I cannot find a race where La Cressonniere met stablemate Almanzor as she has raced only against fillies. Ballydoyle beat Minding as a two year old, not a three year old, whilst I cannot find any occasion when Jet Setting has met La Cressonniere, so there appears to be a little factual inaccuracy creeping in here.

Unbeaten does not automatically mean the best. If that were the case, Mrs Danvers, unbeaten two year old grey filly would have a claim to being the top two year old filly in Europe; however, we know that not to be the case.

In the latest International Federation “World’s Best Racehorse Rankings”, the top rated European three year old fillies are Minding and Jet Setting, both rated 120. In what has been a moderate year for the European Classic generation, La Cressonniere has not achieved a rating of 120 in any of her victories.

The irony is that although the 1000 Guineas winner beat Ribchester fair and square in the QEII, for official handicapping purposes because she was in receipt of the 3lb sex allowance, he will still be rated superior (was rated 121 before today) as Ryan Moore did not drive his mount out as he knew she had won the race.

Sometimes it is necessary to accept that this was not a very good vintage, which was why Aidan O’Brien was able to claim so many top prizes with horses that would not get mentioned in good years.

Almanzor had to be consoled for a month after a gallop at home with LC, they decided not to work him with her again after that.

Not sure what you are using for form QM but maybe need to look elsewhere.

How long has beating a horse on the gallops constituted a race? My gaffer owns shares in a two year old filly who regularly beats a three year old handicapper on the gallops in Lambourn but she has yet to win an actual race.

I never looked at La Cressonniere’s two year old races as they are totally irrelevant, unless you can point out to me where I can find Jean-Claude Rouget’s filly in the 2015 two year old classifications as being top ten, where Group 1 Fillies’ Mile winner Minding definitely could be found. Looking at Jet Setting’s two year old form on SportingLife.com, that French race (the Listed Prix Herod, 24 Nov 2015) is not even listed and she was still a maiden until March 2016.
