Citeh will just spend more. That's the problem. Whatever Abramovic does, they will do better with greater resources. Chelsea is a small club in London. Citeh own clubs in New York, Japan and Australia and I guess China is just a way off with their other investors. This isn't a rich man's play thing but an attempt at world dominance. If they want to put extra money in then all they have to do is get some dodgy mates to sponsor their jock-straps for £5 billlion and Chelsea are playing catch up again. Mansour is twice as rich as Mad Dog without the Chinese money being taken into account. It's a war he can't win.
Will we see apologies from all of those people that prevented him continuing his career, some of whom were high profile figures?

He was stupid, but I can remember several of us on here said at the time that the conviction was dubious.
I still think what he admitted to doing would stop me employing him, even if it was not proven to be a crime.
Since the blogosphere has become fixated on that website that was offering £50,000 to anyone who could provide new evidence, and the connotations that come with it, I guess the only option for Evans at this point is to join a club where that sort of behaviour is not only tolerated but actively supported by their players and fans alike.

That would be ridiculous and utterly abhorent. For a start, she never accused him of rape, she went to the police because she couldn't remember the night before and was worried she'd been drugged. It was the police that charged Evans and McDonald with rape. Also this victim blaming has got to stop, it's no wonder people have such reservations about going to the police about sexual assault or rape, particularly against well known people when you see reactions like this.
Actually I think it's more likely she would win if she sued him given his website has illegally identified her.
Stupid doesn't cover it. He was sent a text saying "got a bird" in the early hours of the morning and took it as invitation to go and have sex with the girl he didn't know. Any doubts he may have had about her being too drunk were apparently completely wiped away by McDonald asking if Evans could join in. It's callous behaviour. The text bothers me more and more everytime I hear about this case. Why on Earth would Evans react like take those actions after a text? There's one option that stands out to me and it makes my skin crawl.
Nothing wrong with what anyone else did. Initially he was a convicted rapist, and then once he had a successful appeal(at second or third attempt, and with only one of the grounds being successful) he was awaiting trial for rape. People were well within their rights to take issue with Evans getting a high-profile job playing professional football.
I note that whilst Ennis spoke out about Evans, she passed no comment on those who around the same time were known to be threatening the owners of football clubs that if they employed Evans, their daughters would be raped in reprisal. It's easy to look now at Ennis's words and position in black and white, and think them perfectly reasonable, but it should be remembered that they were given in a context, and that context was one of a public/mob vitreol on an almost unprecedented scale.
Anyway, whatever, this whole case needs to be looked at objectively and sensibly because it has been a complete disaster for all involved. Consenting adults took part willingly in a sexual encounter, only for our justice system to poke its nose in to cause ruin and agony to both lives and the lives if their loved ones. Can't see that ever happening though, because of the perpetual threat of being criticised by the feminism police and their mob, whatever you do. The BBC - whose website has become obsessed in recent years with a feminist agenda - is already in the process of blaming Evans for being not guilty of actually having committed a crime.

You are unbelievable.
The facts of this case were clear at the first trial where Evans was convicted, despite the woman being unable to give evidence against him. There then followed an unprecedented attack on the woman who was identified contrary to the law and a reward of £50k offered to anyone who could provide new evidence. Surprise, surprise people came forward to say that the woman had behaved the same way with them. They were able to say she used exactly the same words which were.in the public record. The law shouldn't allow that course of events as it's clearly open to abuse.
You have no evidence that consent took place so don't state it as a fact.
well what we do know is :
- they had sex
- she has no memory of it
- she did not and has never alleged that she was raped
- he claimed she shouted "**** me harder"
- a man that had sex with her after meeting her in the same bar 2 weeks earlier claims she said the same thing to him
- she does not deny it
- a jury unanimously believed him

- you claim that I am "unbelievable" for saying that it's unfair that one of the 3 men (evans) spent 2 years in prison for raping her, that the prosecution was detrimental to both parties, and that lessons should be learned
On reflection, do you think that the prosecution of this sexual encounter as rape was beneficial to the individuals involved or to society ?
