I know Ayala is a good player but we have spent 800k on Hobbs 300k on Chester now 850k ?? on Ayala. Yet in the areas we desperately needed to strengthen we get in two free transfers Mckenna and Adestrolla. Our goals for column from last season is woeful. Much as i like Ayala that cash should be going towards a forward.
Surely NP's treatment of Simpson last signifies he doesnt rate him? Then fair enough get rid NP, act decisively now. Mcleans touch and control is poor, he isnt good enough i would give him back to Peterborough if we havent paid all of the 1.2 million we agreed on.
Hobbs isnt rubbish he just came across the classiest most intelligent forward he will play against this season. Lets hope he learns from it.

We are buying Ayala because..................................... Hobbs is s hite.................

But i agree, we need a proven striker, one that doesnt miss six chances a game and probably scores one in ten.

I find this sudden anti-Hobbs rhetoric embarrassing, quite honestly. Granted, he didn't have his best game last night but I wasn't too aware of any particular ill-feeling towards him before last night. What is it, Harper and Mclean weren't playing so you have to find someone else to pick on? Why the need for the scapegoat all the time?

Ok because.....He's a class, young defender who in time will prove his worth and when the EPL parachute payments finish we might just sell on for a tidy profit and help maintain our Championship status?

No chance. The only person uglier than Devitt is Yossi Benayoun.

He was Leicester's Player of the Season the year they nearly got promoted. It's the need for a scapegoat I can't get my head around. If we sign Ayala and he replaces Hobbs, I wonder who will be next in line for the snipers. Fryatt is looking favourite at the moment.

Yes we've spent a bit of many on a few centre backs but I see only two positive outcomes from it.

    1. All 3 are young a promising, which means there should be no need to recruit any more centre backs for a long time. This is better than spending slightly less money on older players of the same position every other year, surely?
    2. When the three leave us we will get bigger money that what we paid, so what's the problem?

theres two reasons were buying ayala, one were very short of cover and its a long long season, two; hes INCREDIBLE value for money, we'll make a couple of million at least in two years, our best defender.

There is no doubt all 3 are good players, i get the sell on stuff etc but the problems are only 2 can play,we are skint so buying 3 players for two positions is wasteful and we cant score goals and thats where the money should be going.

unless we get rid of some of the players we have in them positions were not going to buy replacements, theres no point having 5 strikers and 50 million centre midfielders.

If you read my first post i said get rid of Mclean and Simpson, NP obviously doesnt rate him. Adestrolla is nothing short of a disaster. We scored 52 goals last season 21 at home that is abysmal. How are we rectifying it by spending money on a CB?

We have a decent set of defenders now. Now to sign some decent strikers.

Assuming they arent on massive weekly wages then give Mclean back to Posh. We wont have paid the full transfer yet so write it off. Simpson didnt cost much so get him a club back down south. If the will is there then it can be done but this is serious. It isnt a fresh season its a long running problem from last season and we havent rectified it.

I'm with you 100% on this . I've just sat through the whole ninety minutes again and I think people are being way too harsh on Hobbs.

I've read on numerous posts how awful he was last night and how brilliant Chester was.

Granted Hobbs made a few mistakes but so did Chester , ones that he was lucky to get away with.

15 minutes in and a very sloppy clearance went straight to Ferguson on the edge of the box . Luckily his shot went straight at the Gulasci.

Just after the second half and only a last ditch tackle from Brady prevented a Blackpool goal . This was after Chester had horribly mis timed a challenge and was caught out of position.

Both mistakes could have been very costly . These two howlers seem to have been conveniently ignored by those slagging Hobbs off.

I also fear that the ****ing idiots who just have to have a scapegoat may be rounding on Hobbs.

Everyone has a right to criticise poor performances but when both centre backs make mistakes but only one is singled out it's unfair.

One game in and it's started . What a joke.
