Morning all, very glad that Yorkie is bringing some English weather with him. Lovely rain started in the early hours and forecast to last all day. :emoticon-0100-smile

Grey here but brightening up a bit. Hoping for some sun as the house is being photographed this afternoon.

    Good on him!

My son has a similar tale to tell. Now studying Law at Aberdeen Uni, he had been trying his hand at bar work to help fund his way & was working at Wetherspoons, Crap pay, crap hours, crap boss and crap clientelle all made him look for something else. For the last four years he had been working week-ends and holidays for our neighbour who owns the local ice cream shop & whose ice cream has a favourable reputation across the north of Scotland. Walking to Uni last week, he spotted some for sale in a local ice cream shop & on the spur of the moment, popped in and said, pointing to the ice cream, "I've worked for them for four years making exactly that. Any jobs going?" A quick phone call later and they hired him. :)

Morning all, grey and murky here and a few showers forecast. Off to fit door handles to doors this morning and keep the plasterer going now he has returned to daughter's house. Will she be able to move in for Christmas? Wait and see I think.

My youngest grandchild will be 9 on Sunday, so as it is my monthly dinner with friends that day she will have part of her birthday tomorrow. They have gone past the tiring stage, but a new set of attitudes are starting to kick in for her older sisters who are at secondary school and believe that they are old enough to know better than their parents.
Not a lot has changed since I was their age.

Mine are just 6 and coming up 4. The little 3 year old burst into tears when his mum said we were going home today - but a couple of dinosaur pictures soon diverted his attention :) I had been fighting them all last evening and this morning.

Ours are 5, 3 and 6 months. Saw them on Wednesday and said to the 3-year-old I would see her on Sunday, three days away, at her little sister's christening. She thought for a moment and said, "You could have three sleepovers..." They are an absolute delight.

Good morning, Dave; good morning, all. :)

Good luck today against the Millers, Dave. Lloydihno's not with them now so we can all be 100% for the Canary win now. ;)

Another football competition today, this one in Snorbins (which sounds like a lazy off-licence). Matej scored a hat-trick in Colchester - he's Luther in disguise (quite a heavy disguise being a foot shorter and about half Luther's weight, but still our beloved Luther). Seb64 is more in the Steve Sims mould, three years younger than his brother but weighs more than him, a fearless, chunky, karate-loving centre-back you don't want to mess with. As my dad used to say of the very great Sir Anthony Coton, "he's an ugly bastard, yes - but he's our ugly bastard!"

Morning all, bright and breezy here today. Yesterday evening it was cold and wet, yet still the die-hard fans turned up to watch Chateauroux play their latest match. As the league they play in now shows live matches via the internet, you have to wonder why people turn out on such an evening. I suspect it has something to do with meeting up in the bar with friends where the heating is turned on as well as the football. Could it ever get to the point where all football is watched from the comfort of your armchair?
