EU-Canada trade deal falls apart after veto from ONE REGIONAL government

It just shows how easy it is to block unwanted deals. Why do leavers say that we cannot prevent all this subjugation to the EU?

 

Never mind. I'm sure negotiating our one will be a piece of cake. Of course the EU is 'undemocratic' - the UK would never allow a local Govt to veto anything in our version of democracy.....

that's not a reason to stay in and suffer for the rest of our lives
it's best to bite the bullet, leave and then make our own decisions

Like the EU and partners, things can change over time into something very different from what perhaps seemed attractive in the early days.

We were able to board the ship a little later though and I for one enjoyed the cruise. All the ship needs now is a refit, not some mutineers trying to sink it

 

What a waste of money, and time, just to conclude with what we all knew to be true in the first place.

 

Of course being in the EU is difficult. Your marriage analogy isn't a bad one, actually. If we had made an effort to make it work rather than wanting opt outs on everything we might have seen the advantages more clearly.

 

It needed a new engine, and new captain and complete new crew, and a new anchor....and to be changed into a van.
