I guess depends what they want. If they want to make a quick buck then yeah, but then question gets asked do we want a 17 yr old who isn't near the first team demanding that sort of money? If they have their head screwed on and decent agent / family advising them with some belief they will make it then wouldn't worry about money at that stage and be at club that offers them best footballing chance, with klopp here, they've got chance at one very good club with one of best managers.
yeah but what about the city and the utd and the cheslea who will pay it. thats the point. If you say go try poach the next raheem sterling (and we did lets be fair pay qpr for him) can we do this again?
Your point is excellent. Nobody should be looking for the cash now they should be looking for the best football education and chance but often... well if you are looking at two clubs and one offers you a lot more money there is a natural inclination to say this club wants me more..
I hope it works but i can see many times we will just end up breaking this rule and it will be for the cameron brannigans and jon flanagans of this world not the ibe, ince, sterlings... and the reality is we've made quite a bit of money seeing young talent, buying them in and selling them on.
LFC need to back the policy with the very best footballing education. Our academy is **** compared to chelseas and citys, spurs seems better as does utds, but those elites like city and utd and cheslea never seen to give a home grown kid a chance at all. the issue we have is we are making this rule in isolation in a competitive market place.
it will take us 5/6 years to see if it works at least.
