You wouldn't, unless Northern Ireland joined the Republic (which I'm in favour of) or you put up border controls on the Northern Irish border. My point was that being an island provided a natural border, just like mountain ranges in Asia provide natural frontiers for Nepal's borders. The Northern Irish border is arbitrary.

Not sure why you've put quotation marks around the word immigrants. Someone who moves from one country to another (migration) is an immigrant; that's the definition. Are you implying a French person migrating to Britain is not an immigrant? The quotation marks seem unnecessary.

I, too, am in favour of a unified Ireland. The reason I put 'immigrant' in quotes is because Irish coming to Britain are not (generally) seen as immigrants; anyone else coming from the Emerald Isle would be the same, even if they had sneaked in from the EU

Our treatment? I'll think you'll find historically, the English/British state has persecuted the English people, particularly in the North, to a degree equal if not worse to the treatment of the Irish. The Harrying of the North by William the Bastard was just as bad as Cromwell's treatment of the Irish.
