No, but people like Murdoch, and Desmond, who owns The Excess, relied on stirring up the portion that are.

The 'real' cost of Brexit is starting to permeate every day life ... the stand off between Tesco and Unilever being reported today will become more and more common and is not good news for consumers.

The weakening pound has caused Unilever to hike wholesale prices which Tesco is refusing to pay as it doesn't want to pass on the additional costs to it's customers... Unilever products are therefore disappearing from Tesco shelves.

Pete will soon be paying a lot more for his Pot Noodles and Ben & Jerry's however the impasse between those corporate giants is finally resolved ... Karma?

    :)

The Unilever / Tesco issue is the start of manufacturers passing on the price hikes caused by the crashing pound

Many have been absorbing the 16% as retailers such as Tesco wouldn't accept the unit price increase. Them telling Tesco to **** off is the start of that being passed onto consumers - result = inflation

Another pre referendum prediction about to start hitting home

    Dopey ****ing ****s

But, of course, all our predictions were wrong. Scaremongering, etc.

Now the idiots can see the start of the realities for themselves. And, believe me, this is just the beginning!

Dull Hull will spend the whole of today crying about how the Unilever/Tesco stand off is nothing to do with Brexit.

Similar to his hilarious blubbing yesterday about how the bankers' "this is about Brexit" comments were apparently nothing to do with Brexit.

Obviously he'll then post pictures of straw men and scarecrows.

    The Dull, predictable twat! <laugh>

A large chunk of Unilever products are produced in this country for UK market and using UK based materials. There is more to this than a manufacturer passing on costs and some of it is to offset the loss of profits when the companies income earned in pounds is converted to dollars.

I'd say it's more like a significant minority and about two thirds of Yorkshire.

He disrupts the thread by posting some absolute bollocks, being pulled up on it and then spending 6 pages waffling ****e about how you've somehow misinterpreted what he said and deflecting away with utter bullshit. Having done that he then accuses you of ruining the debate. He's a belligerent cock

    Maybe.
But what it highlights is that price increases are affected by more than just the increased costs of imports. Foreign companies that manufacture goods in this country and largely for the UK market will be looking to hit profit targets that are not priced in GBP.

Either way, the collapse of Sterling, brought on by this Brexit insanity, is responsible.

Ultimately it all leads back to the fact that the UK has voluntarily hammered its own currency.

This article was prophetic - https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...efa856caf2a_story.html?utm_term=.1a911287d549
