I see Taylor has been bleating in The Sun and other papers about why he hasn't been playing. I tell you why mate, you are not playing as you are ****ing rubbish and even our right back is better than you at left back. I really hope Bob doesn't fall for all the brown nosing he has been doing in the press and leaves him out where he deserves to be, all fullbacks have ben better than him this year and he probably doesn't even deserve to make the bench.

Taylor stop whinging knuckle down and try and improve.

TLF - you are spot on with that observation. It's getting a bit tedious - but I guess that, part of the problem was that he was appointed at the start of the International Break.

Anyway, let's hope there's one headline we don't see

"First American Manager relegated from the PL......... "

given the circumstances Guidolin was put under the last 16 games last season and the first 7 this seasons , I do think Guidolin was doing a good job .
We averaged1.5 points a game under him last season with some of his best being the last few games .
this season we lost the heart and soul of the defence , in Williams, and now the heart and soul is Amat , with very , very limited minutes leading up to this role.
We start with a whole new strike force this season , and most expected miracles , which is not really a surprise to me .
We were improving in Guidolins last 2 games , against the top two teams .
Everyone likes to have a go at Fer but we are struggling badly in two very weak pieces to our game , goal scoring and set pieces . Fer has 4 out of our 6 goals and leads the team in aerial battles .
Under Monk , Curtis and Guidolin Montero isn't a picked player...Why do 3 different managers not play him ?..thinkabout it .
Just because people say Guidolin is picking a poor team , poor subs , poor tactics and causing a team rift ...doesn't make it true . .
Martinez got to pick players on the cheap , Rodgers too and also Laudrup .We made money and got results with those managers knowledge of who they wanted .
Then Jenkins sent Laudrups agent packing and at that exact moment started to undermine Laudrup .
Bellyached about having to sign Bony because spending that much wasn't " The Swansea Way ", a player laudrup brought in and we made 15 million off of.
Then next season s Huw signed Fernandez for 7 million and Gomis on 80,000 a week..what a laugh after his words in the press about the Bony signing and gave a Monk a 3 year contract , almost like announcing personal victory in his decisions ( like Bush on the carrier announcing victory in Iraq)
We made money with Martinez , Rodgers and Laudrup ...Then when Jenkins took control we've had to buy out Laudrup s , Monks and Guidolins contract at probably 10 million .
But we did save money on Vorm to help compensate

Curtis was the main man last season roof not FG imo. This season proves it as we are playing his way now and have looked a different team with little or no punch. We have played every game with no confidence whatsoever and this is the side of our game i hope Bob can Build...:emoticon-0105-wink: Players who have left like Ash should not change the way we can play even though he was a very important player for us as we have players who could fill in for him without losing our shape. The club must get credit for allowing FG his chance as there were many that did not want him and would have rather started with Curtis as interim Boss until we find someone.....When players dont show respect for the manager then you know all is not well in the dressing room, He needed to be replaced roof he was far too nice and timid to control his players and i Hope Bob is the total opposite and wont take any crap off any of the players and better still off Jenkins.....He does look that type of manager imo...

    <cheers> Thanks?

I've no problem with criticising anyone if that's your opinion but we've just appointed a new Manager with the promise of more attacking football compared to the often negative dross we've seen lately. May work out, may not.

So, exciting, if a little worrying times ahead. Playing the same old record about the Evil Lord Jenkins - because sadly that's all you seem to do - seems a little futile.

Let's all get behind the new guy eh? <ok>

    Roof, dude ffs

Guidolin wasn't 'put under' any circumstances Roof, he simply accepted a highly paid job. While he was here we played **** football, last season up until he went on the sick when Curtis who got us going and Guidolin rode a freebie to the end of the season. This year we've earned a whopping 0.57 points per game so he had to go, not because of any conspiracy or because we have LucyFur as chairman, its simply because our club was suffering with Guidolin in charge.

Re Williams: he decided to go and why should we stop him? He gave us the best years of his career and we showed loyalty to him by allowing to get his paid day. The problems we had in defense since were due to Fernandez poor form, not Williams' absence and on the pitch at least, this seems to have been rectified with the arrival of our new signing van der Hoorn. A very good buy, well done Huw.

Re Strikers: No one expected miracles, we just thought and still think that they'll be more productive than Gomiss

Re improvement: For the last two weeks, only, of his reign we played a style of game that had 'Curtis' stamped all over it. He even started sitting next to Guidolin on the sideline. Was this down to Guidolin already knowing his fate and Curtis taking more of a role in things, coincidence? If its a football reason your after then look no further than Leon Britton. It is plain and obvious that we started to play well from the moment Guidolion picked for him to play in the B-team against Citeh in the cup, coincidence?

Re Fer: never had a go at him just his selection. Picking Fer completely wipes out our attacking threat through the centre and on both flanks. Picking Fer in the middle costs Siggy his place as attacking midfielder and his attacking threat and prowess in front of goal. It also costs Barrow and Montero a starting place or a place on the bench as Siggy is moved to the wing, blocking their selection. It also snuffs out any remaining attacking threat on the right wing. Because Siggy is crap as a left winger, defenses can line up and gang bang whoever is selected on the right because they know we pose no threat ANYWHERE ELSE on the pitch. This is all Guidolins fault not Fer's because Fer is a central midfielder or a covering midfielder asked to play box to box or as an attacking midfielder and he is no Joe Allan.

Re Montero: but the other managers did pick him Roof, may have been for 60 minutes as a starter, or 30 off the bench, but he did get picked and when he played he was a threat.

As far as I'm concerned Guidolin played too many players out of position and then compounded his errors by asking the team to play in a system they had little faith in which took them even further out of their comfort zone. His 0.57 points per game shows that something had to change and change it did. Thank Jebus someone made that change, who was that now?

I'm not going to address the rest of your post Roof because we don't see eye to eye on any of it. In fact I think we'd need a large hadron collider to get our opinions to meet so I'm not going to argue. I will say though 'I'm right and your wrong' <laugh>

Swansea City: Bob Bradley to appoint Pierre Barrieu to his backroom staff

please log in to view this image

Pierre Barrieu (right) worked alongside Bob Bradley with USA and Le Havre
Swansea manager Bob Bradley is appointing Pierre Barrieu to his backroom staff the Liberty Stadium.

Barrieu was assistant coach at Le Havre, the club Bradley left to join the Swans on 3 October.

The 44-year-old had previously worked with the USA national team, LA Galaxy and Sheffield Wednesday.

At the time of his appointment, Bradley said he wanted to add one or two coaches and hinted at bringing in someone with Premier League experience.

Three members of the backroom staff - Diego Bortoluzzi, Gabrielle Ambrosetti, Claudio Bordon - left when Guidolin was dismissed.

First team coach Alan Curtis, who has been associated with the club as a player, coach and caretaker manager since the 1970s, is expected to stay on.

"For me Alan Curtis will be very important, he's going to be my older brother - only a little older," said Bradley.

"His sense of the club, his eye, his experience will be important. I'm working on getting the right balance."

Bradley is the first American to manage in the Premier League and takes charge of his first match when Swansea play Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 15 October.

I'm actually feeling quite excited about the Arsenal match now. I don't imagine we'll get anything, but I want to see how we'll set up and if it will be a more positive slant. Of course it may not be that way against Arsenal, as going hung-Ho in his first match could end up a heavy defeat. I'm still looking forward all the same.

Well I`ve heard a rumour (yes one of thise damned things again) that he`s on his way out, not only of the club but the country as well. Selling his brand new house and jogging off to sunnier climes. It is only a rumour though.

I must admit I'm feeling the total opposite. I can't remember the last time I felt so disinterested in a game. For me it's like the end of an era. The end of our local club status and the start of a corporate franchise. It's been made worse by the International break which seems to have extended the whole sorry, sordid saga.

I've got a ticket for the game so I'll toddle along to The Emirates to be with the people that really matter, the Swans fans. I'm hoping that a few beers with The Jack Army will re-ignite my mojo.

We enter a new era every time we change the manager but everything had to be done as stated by Huw but i think this time Hew wont have any say at all and i think this is good for our club.....Huw has been holding us back with his lower league mentality and i hope now we can start acting like a proper premiership team like we were when beating the Big sides on a regular basis.... I am more optimistic now than i have been for a number of seasons....and only time will tell....
