Not at that complete load of arse you typed up there, no.

The only people who should be kicked out of this country are the ones who don't have any care for the welfare of their fellow human beings. What does it mean to be British exactly? Our fathers, grandfathers and so on fought for freedom against oppression, against tyranny and for those who had no chance at defending themselves. By booting people out because of something so meaningless as where they're born, something that nobody has a choice over any more than they do about gender, looks or sexuality, you're doing everybody who fights for this country and supports humanitarian efforts a huge disservice.

Have you been to Turkey recently? It's a mess.

Also, most of them did stop somewhere else. So what you're saying is, they should ALL go somewhere else and none should bother coming here.

Or, just be sarcastic and continue being xenophobic. If you have the ideology that Britain should be British, then this country is going to fail very, very quickly.

I would beg to differ as both politics and religion are the major causes of this state of affairs.

She means nothing to me! She should be embarrassed to think anyone cares what she thinks!

But we aren't talking about them. The only reason he wants it closed is because he's said something ****ing stupid and wants it rid before anybody else pulls him up on it.

We're talking about humanitarianism, ethics and diversity, not politics or religion.

Everyone loves a scapegoat. It's usually the immigrants. Lately it's been the EU too. All a bit depressing.

The world is not a very nice place. It never has been and never will be. Since civilization began there have been mass exoduses for all sorts of reasons. Simply put, it is mans inhumanity to man. Sad but true.

My heart goes out to the refugees in those camps - absolute.

I don't like Lily Allen. I find her disingenous and of no discernible talent. She is extremely rich due to the ****ed up nature of this world - but that aside.

For me, I think it's right to highlight the plight of the refugees. But for her to apologise on behalf of Britain smacks of self aggrandisement. It would have been more accurate to apologise for Britain's foreign and domestic policies - but still, what gives her the right to do that? Besides, the problems of the refugees is a pan-world problem with a multitude of causes.

Without going into details, I have, at different times, worked with refugees from Asia and Africa in this country. I've heard some terrible stories from them and at no point have I ever felt like apologising on behalf of this country. I know people at the Refugee Council and others who have been to camps. I've never heard of anyone apologising on behalf of Britain to them and these people have been right at the coal face.

So, in summary, I welcome the fact she's highlighting their plight but the apology, in my opinion, was inaccurate and probably for her own gratification albeit admittedly in a very emotive setting.

Have you ever criticised someone doing something similar? Another celebrity perhaps? If not, then fair play to you. I know I generally call Geldof a **** when I see him on the box.

We have it enshrined in our statutes that we set aside 0.7% of our GDP for Foreign Aid.
Second only to the US in terms of money donated, in 2014 we spent £11.4 billion- more than any other European country or anyone else in the developed world.
What a mean hard hearted country we are.

I can't say I've ever had a pop at anybody highlighting a serious problem. If she's doing it for shameless self promotion then that's not good, but at least she's doing the right thing for the wrong reason. If the end result is that those people get the help they need, then I really couldn't care less if it means Lily Allen makes another few million quid.

Leon makes a good point, the apology was unnecessary, and I'm not a fan of lily Allen either, another silver spoon over privileged celebrity spawn. But I welcome her highlighting the plight of refugees.

Good, so we should be. £11.4 billion eh? How much did Sky and BT combined pay for the rights to the Premier League? So that people rich enough to afford to sit at home with a subscription watch a bunch of men play a sport most people enjoy playing for free?

We spend around a billion pounds per annum as a country on cosmetic surgery. As a nation, we spend £29.4 billion pounds on takeaways every year, £2bn on mobile phones and half a trillion on credit card payments.

But ask people to donate to help other human beings live another day and it is far too much of an expense for us. ****ing shambolic.

Doesn't seem like it, it looks like people are moaning about the amount of aid we provide.
