Of all the rumours to emerge this summer, this is the one which I like the best. Fox has a cracking delivery on him, and Rodriguez looks like a decent up and coming player. That said, as with all these rumours, I'm not reading anything into it. As the article states, why would Burnley want to sell evern more players?
I agree. Burnley still have a season or two of parachute payments from the Prem, so can't be that hard up for money compared to many clubs in the Championship. So I think their board and manager would resist saints approach. But never rule out the players in question wanting to move and putting pressure on the club from their direction. They could see the loss of other players as a sign the club is going backwards anyway.
They would be great signings but after they've already lost a few players, I can't see them selling anymore.
Patterson is a good worker too. I can't see them selling both Fox and Jay Rod, but you never know. Maybe the appeal of them taking Howe from Bmouth was that he can work on the tightest of budgets.
Interesting, well I find it funny as I put the 'massive bid' thread up yesterday which stated there was a bid for PLAYERS!! So I am wondering if this is what they meant. Who knows, we shall wait and see! But the Daily Mail also has this as an article and we all know about the Daily Mail!!
Would be very excited if this came through. As it happens, they both play for my team on FM so that must be a sign.
Rodriguez and Gary Hooper helped fire me into the Champions League (snuck above Arsenal into 4th on the final game of the season, having not been in the top 4 at any time during the previous 37 games).
I'm not getting quite that same amount of luck, Rodriguez and Jong Tae-Se are battling me to a comfortable mid-table position (13th three seasons in a row now...), maybe I should try Gary Hooper. And that article is clearly full of crap - "That's the report in today's Daily Mail and it appears the South Coast clubs are very keen on some of our players with Portsmouth having now increased their offer for Martin Paterson to £2.5 million." Like they could afford that.
I read somewhere else that Pompey were offering over 2 mil for some players. Seems they have a bit of money from their new owners and I think Cotterill is looking to get a couple of good players and the rest on loans or free transfers. Rumours are probably about as accurate as the ones we've heard about Saints.
Yeah, England obviously noticed because the two of them are regularly picked as Rooney and Carroll's understudies. To be honest though, it's down to the rest of the team that I am where I am: Simon Mignolet Kyle Walker, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Lee Wallace Jordan Henderson (c), Mark Noble, Morgan Schneiderlin (vc), Stewart Downing Gary Hooper, Jay Rodriguez I don't know it keeping things mainly British had anything to do with it.
Aah I see, very good team, been trying to get Phil Jones for ages but they want about £30m which I'm not too keen to let go, and I'd get several others there (Downing, Walker etc) if they'd come to me. Mine looks like this - Joe Hart Neal Eardley, Gary Cahill, Sean St. Ledger, Danny Fox Christian Derflinger, Jack Cork, Jano, John Fleck Jay Rodriguez, Jong Tae-Se Sadly every one of them underperforms... I'll blame the players instead of the tactics.
I believe legally it's tough luck. Technically they are now a different company so they can honour the creditors agreements and still spend money.... I think.
