So we will be leaving and then ask again if we want to leave?
even though we will be leaving?
what is the point of that?
most sensible people thought we were getting a decision
a referendum of the people carries more authority than parliament, a referendum is more democratic and should settle it
do you think that, despite the Scottish referendum result being to remain a part of the UK, that the Scottish parliament should be allowed to decide whether they stay?

Where does that end though? If people.don't like the proposals, do we just keep voting until there's an acceptable scenario?
Do we then extend that to other bits of Government?

The election manifesto was for a referendum. The referendum result informed the Government of people's feelings on the basic question of EU membership.

I reckon 100 people will produce 100 different scenarios as to what is acceptable. Any resolution is going to be a compromise to most people.

As if the EU is going to say: "OK, we will spend a couple of years negotiating the leaving arrangement and then tear it up if the UK decides they dont like the terms. Of course we will spend another two years negotiating on different terms and hopefully the UK will vote to accept them the next time"
    That is complete madness.

... I don't doubt it in fairness ... but I think we can all agree that if there had been no immigration 'fear factor' then 'Remain' would have won the vote by a considerable majority . <ok>

We must decide if we accept the the result of the negotiation. The rest of the EU will have to accept as well. The UK acceptance may be by referendum or by vote of our elected representatives

If he is a waste of space, why do you continue to answer him?

We can safely assume he is not and you are very rattled, you had better take a dip in your paddling pool.

Because the negotiations might be a disaster for us. Are you really saying that if we end up getting no access to the single market we should just lump it and not ask the people again whether they are prepared to lose millions of jobs to 'gain control of immigration'. There must surely be some possible outcome that would require a rethink?
