right lads .. anthony taylor in the news today .. he has been appointed as the ref for the liverpool vra manure game in the prem. now my taylor works and lives in manchester ....is this right ????????? mr clattenberg and mr oliver were forbidden to ref newcastle ( when in the prem ) as they live near by . ( not in the city ) how can this be ...have the boundaries changed now ..we will see ..cannot see liverpool fans being happy with this like ...
I think it's more to do with the team they support rather than location. Clatts is open, as a Consett/Leadgate lad about his Toon loyalties. He even got into bother once as he ran down the tunnel at a match and screeched off in his car to watch the Toon play (all officials have to travel together).
I have no issues with it. The ref should be treated as a professional and as a professional he has to do his job, no matter who's playing.
I think it's more to do with the team they support rather than location. Clatts is open, as a Consett/Leadgate lad about his Toon loyalties. He even got into bother once as he ran down the tunnel at a match and screeched off in his car to watch the Toon play (all officials have to travel together).
this is correct, he supports Bury which is a Town in Greater Manchester but his location will mean that he will mix with both Man City and Man United fans everyday which can't be right, I've said this for years after he reffed us against Man U at Old Trafford if he says he doesn't talk too or is influenced one way or another by those fans then he is a liar
Sorry Albert this is not correct, at this level any way they have to travel independently only in the Conference North / South and lower leagues do they travel together it's an expenses fiddle for them were as the lower leagues can't afford to do this
Ahh.. I was misinformed. I thought Clatts got into bother cos he scooted off on his own rather than travel with the party.
In my opinion this usually works out worse for us than it would for the scousers. Too eager to distance themselves from the inevitable headlines so go too far the other way. Stick your money on the skip rats for this one.
Most of the refs are useless anyway, they could go either way on any match, ie home or away team bias. But on average, most are Cack
I see the counselling hasn't managed to get rid of the persecution complex yet. Don't worry I'm sure after a few more sessions it will start to work.
But it only works if you are hated as opposed to, say pitied for not being the biggest Club in Manchester never mind England or Europe.
