Another stat for you is the fans sale represents 2% of the total capacity. I don't think theres enough to account ofr 20k + the estimate for a fan is 20 years to get one.
I don't know why we have a smaller % ST's. A few things to consider: we don't need them all to be as we regularly sell out, ST's are a fixed regular source of income and club don't care whether they all turn up for every game or not but don't want too many sold as ST holders could traditionally be regular no-shows, there are a lot of restricted views which they couldn't sell as a ST. I don't know, the list goes on as to whys and maybes.
Make more money selling 20k tickets a game at £40 a ticket for 20 home games, than 20k tickets a game at say £20 a ticket for 20 home games.
With a ST you pay slightly less than per game cost, true. Maybe if we weren't getting good gates the club would be forced to make more ST's available. No disrespect to Everton but that could be the reason they have more ST's and that link from mito also proves the point, sort of, that it's the smaller clubs with more ST's - and no I'm not including Everton in the 'small club' bracket - tobes
I would wonder as qell but both arsenal and utd have higher % season tickets. I dont know if the latent number of "day trippers" for all 3 clubs is the same, and cos they spend more maybe lfc prioritise them more.. dunno really. I cant think how to explain it. We didn't have enough corporate boxes til now to justify either.
Looking at stadium capacity and what the ST % represents [rough figures]: man utd 55,200 ST's - 20,300 are freely sold. Arsenal 36,800 ST's - 23,000 freely sold. LFC 29,800 ST's - 24,000 freely sold.
Belgium and Liverpool's 28-year-old keeper Simon Mignolet, who appears to have dropped to second choice for club and country, has opened a coffee shop in his home town of Sint-Truiden. (Daily Mirror)
thats a good bit of data right there. This would suggest to me that LFC have about 4k tickets that really ought to be season tickets. I think ok yes i can see as we have 54k and utd have 76k we are trying to compete by milking that bit more out of the seats but.... in general the bigger the ground the more season tickets should be sold proportionally. We do need to remember that LFC control how many they actually let off the list into a ticket so I can only assume we constrain the number of season tickets. It should be a direct question to the supporters committee and see what ayre comes up with.
Ian Ayre has said that an extension of Anfield Rd by 6k seats bringing Anfield's capacity to 60k would cost 60-70M & take 15 yrs to pay off. Ayre has said that as no hospitality seats can be placed behind a goal(Anfield Rd) it's more challenging financially to extend.
So where has TV money gone? Has this been used to pay off finished development and repay loan from owners? Also naming rights for stand. What is funds going to be used for and this would surely cover the £60-70 mill cost. So why is he painting it as take 15 yrs to pay off for Annie Rd development?
6k tickets at £40 is £240,000 a match. Times that by 19 home games a season is £4,560,000 a season. 70m / 4.5m is 15 years. Sounds about right...
If FSG were long term investors, then I believe they would have funded this. But they won't be around in 15 years times so it makes no sense for them to do that.
Naming rights for stand? So debt to owners now cleared and can see we are good debtors. Why not put in another loan that is half of what we just repaid? Also we do get income from other sources that usually covers wages.
As Jimmy says, are they likely to be here in 15 years to break even before they start seeing any profit on it? No naming rights have been sorted for anything, plus can't imagine naming rights wil bring in that much, not like naming whole stadium.
