    Watched the England game tonight. What an utter load of ****e.

    I think Sturridge showed exactly why he isn't starting for Liverpool; he doesn't close down properly and he is plain greedy. Shooting from poor positions when there were better options. i know he's a great finisher but he is so frustrating to watch sometimes.

    It wasn't just him. Lingard was ****, as was Walcott. Dier and Henderson were so desperate for assists that they kept playing the opposition in with back passes....

    Joe Hart was fantastic. Not a bad signing for someone in the summer?

    Said in the thread, he can't play as a cf on his own. We all know that from the last 3 years, why England are trying it I don't know.

    We shouldn't be judging our players on how they play for England. Gerrard wouldn't have got near our team if this was the case.

    This is a fair point! It isn't as though England have been anything other than ****e for a long time <ok>

    Still, today's was possibly the worst England performance I've seen for a very long time.

    Watching Sturridge play for England it seems obvious he's been given a role that isn't his natural position which is probably why he looks so poor in it. More obvious is the fact he's lost his sharpness due to not starting for us. Dier was a liability.

    Not arsed as long as none of our players got injured. Had the game on in the background as I was painting the skirting boards, but from what I saw I can only say that Hart and Rooney came out of it well, and Rooney only because he didn't start. Utter ****.

    Sturridge is one of the most prolific strikers in the history of the club (from a goals per mins aspect).

    That's all I care about. :)

    It has to be said, he looks a lot happier playing for England (out from under the dark cloud that is Klopp), he has actually been smiling again and celebrating goals with his team mates.
    He would make a good buy for somebody at the right price.
