Given that this happened almost a century ago, what would you actually accept, as the blindingly obvious clearly doesn't count?
The fact that there was no reason to promote you? Nope.
Two clubs that had been caught cheating put you forward for it? Nope.
Your own manager saying that your owner had bribed people? Nope.
The same owner later being banned for cheating and having a reputation for it before joining the game? Nope.

No Arsenal manager has said that Norris bribed Arsenal's promotion into the top flight. The only thing that Knighton said in his factually incorrect autobiography was that Norris 'corresponded with a few financiers here and there'. That isn't evidence of him bribing other chairmen.

You haven't provided any evidence for the claim that Arsenal bribed their way into the top flight.

It hardly matters whether there is evidence as it was just a comment I made on a forum. I'm not proposing to prosecute or sue.
The facts remain that Arsenal are one of two clubs in the history of English senior football to move to a different place for financial gain. And the only one who has arranged to be promoted for reasons other than league position.
That is not honourable behaviour

 

What was the context of Knighton's claim, Piskie?
He "corresponded with a few financiers here and there" in order to ensure the vote went his way.
What do you think that means? I've seen horses with less obvious blinders.

His claim is inconclusive enough to be related to any aspect of Arsenal's promotion. There's is zero evidence that is proves Norris bribed other chairmen.

Also, his claims have been roundly debunked as being factually incorrect anyway. His autobiography is littered with mistakes and has been cited as having

'many factual mistakes which suggests he had no recourse to documentation from the era, and was seeking to raise money for his retirement and evidence only of Knighton's poor memory and need for money, and that none of its statements about Norris can be considered valid'

 

A claim made by a filthy Goon, who's clearly as blinkered as you are and will be equally willing to ignore the obvious truth.
The fact that he's edited Knighton's Wikipedia entry to include links to his own blog shows how dishonest he is.
That he's corrected about some of his claims by family members on those links shows that he's a poor bullshitter, too.

There are several factual inaccuracies in Knighton's autobiography. Even the one challenged doesn't account for all of the other inaccuracies. Even then he doesn't give any evidence that Norris bribed Arsenal's way into the top flight.

On any fair minded judgementioned it is clear who is likely to be right.
I see you are now in the class of people who thinks that the passing of time somehow excuses bad behaviour. The fact is that Arsenal's entire success was built on behaviour that was as best reprehensible and at worst criminal.
