The fact that Jose Mourinho is Manchester United manager adds extra spice to a fierce rivalry. It also means that beating them would be even sweeter. Liverpool fans didn’t mind Louis van Gaal. They didn’t really have a problem with David Moyes. But they can’t stand Mourinho, especially after the way he conducted himself in the games against us with Chelsea. He’s guaranteed a hostile reception and I think Mourinho’s tactics will be exactly the same as when he brought Chelsea to Anfield in April 2014. Mourinho is a defensive manager and he will park the bus and then try to feed off our mistakes by hitting us on the break. I’m sure he will also place a big emphasis on set-pieces because United are a big team physically and they know that’s been an area of weakness for us at times. With the height of Ibrahimovic, Fellaini, Pogba and Bailly they do pose an aerial threat. Whoever starts in goal, he really needs to command his box and our back four need to be right on their game and ready for a battle. The way Jurgen Klopp has got us playing means the fear factor is back for opponents. Teams are showing us the utmost respect - like we saw with how Chelsea approached the game against us at Stamford Bridge. I expect United to get men behind the ball and try to slow the game down as much as possible. We will have to be patient as we try to break them down. This is Mourinho’s first game as United boss against Liverpool and he won’t want to be beaten. He would be delighted with a point. If United are positive and are set up to try to match us then they have the attacking weapons to cause us some problems. I think Rashford is brilliant. I know he’s only a kid but arguably he’s their best player. But I can’t see Mourinho playing like that. The way we play won’t change just because United are in town. Klopp is committed to that attacking brand of football and I’m sure he will want his players to impose themselves on the contest from the start. We’re the best footballing team in the Premier League along with Manchester City, and possibly Arsenal on their day. The atmosphere will be something special, especially with it being the first night game at the redeveloped Anfield. I really enjoyed the two Europa League games against United last season. It was great for the world to see us do that to them in the first European tie between the clubs. The tempo and intensity of those two matches was outstanding. We absolutely battered them in the first leg at Anfield to establish that 2-0 lead and then we recovered from a bad start at Old Trafford to run out comfortable winners over the two legs. Philippe Coutinho’s equaliser was something truly special that night as it killed off the tie and silenced all the United fans. However, in terms of the Premier League, we owe United one. They have done the double over us for the past two seasons and we have to put a stop to that. Those recent results in the league enabled United to finish above us in the table for the past two years but there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be looking down on them come May. It’s important that we do because United are going to be one of our contenders for a top-four spot. In order to get back in the Champions League, Anfield has to be a fortress for us. We played really well in the home wins over Leicester and Hull, and we need to maintain those standards. United need to be beaten. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...-liverpool-beating-manchester-united-12005811

L Looked like a hamstring so won't be available in a week....even if he's 50/50, can't see Klopp risking him. Hope Lallana's back or we've lost 2/3 of or midfield Can will definitely play versus Utd.
The PL just announced Taylor will travel to the game on the Man Utd team bus since they go past his house anyway (and his Man Utd wife can get some autographs)
So with Lallana and Wijnaldum probably out, Lovren and Clyne maybe out but will probably recover how do we line up without them? Karius Milner Matip Klaven Moreno Can Hendo Coutinho Mane Studge Firmino
I'm sure he will, some random speculation will have to do until then. The left back spot gives me the shivers lets hope Clyne is fit.

This is an annoyance of mine. For example swansea game looks like score was 2-1 and we were away team so lost 2-1. It should be 1-2 Swansea (A) same for all the others.
Was there an update on Lallana at all? I haven't heard about Lovren and Clyne. If Milner has to cover for Clyne, it shows how shocking our full back status really is Perhaps Grujic will have a role to play? Haven't seen much of him since getting injured pre season. Instant hero status possibility if he does
Clyne and Lovren should be fit, I agree on cover though Randall doesn't seem up to the job and the only other full back is Moreno.
No matter who is playing, this is a special one. No player wants to miss out, even fringe players usually perform.
