For me that isn't the point though. If girls want to get together and prance about that's up to them however good or bad they are at it. I just don't think doing it in the middle or side of a football pitch in front of a load of blokes making ribald comments at them is a good thing. I used to just ignore the fact it was happening altogether.

I don't really agree with the Americanising of British sport, but I think if it helps young ladies get interested in Argyle (and dancing of course) it can only be a good thing. They could just do with better co-ordination as Plymborn says, perhaps this will be better next year.

As for the blokes making comments - well unfortunately we are not all gentlemen.

    Hi Plymborn,

Well, while the Mayflower is still up I am never short of places to kip down. Still the summer has been fairly good to me this year and I have been in Germany recently trying to calm some rather Brexit related panic attacks.
Hopefully I will not need to travel for a bit and can settle back down to just talking about Argyle.:cheesy:

Did anyone else bother to watch the England v Malta game this evening? I watched it and half way through the second half wished I hadn't bothered. Absolutely nothing new at all. Huff and puff, a comfortable win where they never looked troubled but a lot of the time with no clue at all. I think Hart made one save all game. The rest of them over hit, under hit and generally conspired to miss chances. The Malta keeper had a good game mind. I suppose it is always a banana skin where anything less than a 5 - 0 win looks poor.

Luckily I was nowhere near a telly until after the game had finished.....this sought of banana skin game is where the more intelligent player works it out how to score goals.....I doubt if there where abundant brain cells on show last night......that might sound rather unkind but tough luck that is how I see it.

Good job Hart hadn't any real work to do.....I expect he looked a good goalkeeper under the circumstances.

Gareth Southgate is a likeable enough chap but lets hope he doesn't get offered the job fulltime.....always remembered for his penalty miss in the shoot-out against Germany in the semi-final of Euro 96. Made a bit of dosh out of it with a jokey pizza advert on TV.

Big pay off money if Tisdale gets sacked Joe. Think he is on a 2 year rolling contract so firing would cost them 2 years pay. Then there is the backroom boys who would probably have to leave as well. Then there is bringing in the new and the new back room boys. Thank has to be at least £200k minimum. Can they afford to get rid is more the question.

    SIGNS OF WINTER

Frost protection turned on during the night for the first time....noticeable when getting up ...slightly warm radiator in hall and bathroom.

Also dark at 6.30pm last night after a reasonably bright sunny day.

Plus extra info.....put a vest on after my annual bath celebration.

    Still to come.....the clocks.....<wah>....<cry>.

PS.....Haven't used the central heating as yet.

"haven't used the central heating yet"??????? It's nowhere near Christmas yet for christ sake.

As for the annual bath thing can I suggest you are doing it a bit wrong there. The best time is sometime in July. Firstly you don't need the water so hot = less cost. Secondly you don't get rid of the body oils that keep you warm at the wrong time = less central heating. You can save several shillings easily.

.....seeing you live halfway to the West Indies I should think even Christmas is a teeny weeny early for you down there.

Any further west and you would be voting for either Donald or Hillary....:1980_boogie_down:.

    Having mentioned Donald and Hillary......

The Presidential election.....for the so called next leader of the free world....wow... what an horror story....and what a choice between two people who I wouldn't trust with the tea money.

Politics might be messy here at the moment.....but in the States the situation must be like a bad dream.....so many people feeling discontented and marginalized that they are hitting out at the establishment and going to vote for a non-political candidate....who is nearer to a rogue Elephant on the run than a Presidential Candidate to save the people'

Only one winner that I can see at the end of the day and that is..... PUTIN.....the nuclear clock must be getting near five to midnight.

I'm not sure if you've been following it but Trump did say he wouldn't necessarily stand by the USA's commitments under the NATO treaty. Fifty years of peace in Europe undermined in one moronic statement. Then of course we have the Head Goat Corbyn who wouldn't press the button anyway. I feel so much safer.

I think Corbyn is a closet Tory.........trying to turn us into a one party state............a Conservative Hinterland.......good job we've got a strong LibDem opposition........oh heck we haven't.......even UKIP wars might not stop them being the only opposition.....unless the SNP come pouring over Hadrians wall to invade us with catapults and balls of haggis.
