Good Morning Everyone, Derby have officially parted company with Nigel Pearson. Who would you rather have? Monk or Pearson? Leeds United Under-23s coach Jason Blunt called on his players to “toughen up quickly” after watching them edge out Bolton Wanderers in a seven-goal game on Wednesday night. Blunt said: “At times I was very frustrated but at times I was pleased with our play. We’ve got to learn that we can’t start games in that way – basic things like centre-halves going to win headers. “They’ve got to toughen up and toughen up quickly. During the break we spoke about showing more desire and fight and they definitely did second half. To come back and win 4-3, all credit to them.” Simon O'Rourke@simon_orourke I'm setting up a protest group to protest the protest group that's protesting the protest group that's protesting against Cellino. Who's in? Do LUFC need a protest group? TTGM or LUST? Who has your support?
Pearson is an admirable guy and will not take **** from anyone, so would never work at Leeds whilst Cellino is here. He had interference from the Derby board and told them to fook off. so he lost his job again, and it could also be said that he never had the full backing of the players at Derby. many were brought in for big money and thought they had made it, but didnt like being told to work hard, train hard and we know what happened next. Pearson is a great guy for starting from scratch and developing workers and skills. taking over a team already assembled was a bit too much for him, especially if taking crap from upstairs at the same time. I would have him at Leeds if we were struggling and in danger, but we seem to have broken through the garbage and Monk is doing great
Morning Doc, well said. Monk's doing great at the moment, and personally I wouldn't change things at all. I do think there has to be some give and take where the board is concerned, and whilst its admiral that he takes no crap, his approach can come across as blinkered.
Our U 23 side will never be as good in terms of results as our U 21 side. Monk will use the team to get game time for his squad coming back tio fitness or being out of the first team squad. Blunt will never have a settled team and so means less chance for kids to shine, and is just like the days before Wilko took over. We now have a first tea, and the U 23 is the reserves and the reserves always played weekly home and away, but were stronger as all of them were trying to get into the first team. The U 23's will always have 5 or 6 kids who will not make it into the first team in any given season. I think this is a cheap academy set up and wrong headed
Morning all... What Doc says regarding Monk/Pearson. Monk is learning and slowly getting better along with the team, not sure how much is down to him or down to Clotet, it could just be that they work well together as a team.
Morning ristac, I think Monk, Clotet and Beattie are a good team. Hope they stay together. Would be interesting if Clotet left, whether Monk would struggle?
Morning all ... let's put this Monk thing to bed once and for all so we can stop debating the manager and his potential replacements ... Monk is a clueless idiot who should never have been given the job, hopefully Cellino will see through him soon and sack him so that we can get Evans back with Junior and Hock as his assistants ... what a pointless "discussion" regarding Pearson, felt like I was tuning into TalkTripe with Durham Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Nothing much happening Billy with the International break, Elland was just putting it out there for debate, who would we/you rather have. Just a bit of fun otherwise the forum would be pretty dead this morning I'm assuming the intention was there to see that we would ALL choose to stick with Monk yet on day one of the season I would dare say the majority would have picked Pearson
Morning all Monk over Pearson any day. For one reason less baggage comes with Monk. Over Protest Groups. Sick of them, they do more harm than good. All they have served to do is to split the fan base up.
Matt BS has swallowed your hook so far down his throat you are going to have to wait until he ****s it out. Its way too deeply embedded to get it out with the usual pliers. But you do win a prize. Cast of the morning. No point any of the rest of us even getting a lure wet!
I fkd up Chirpy on BS thread, I see no answer on the betting odds I gave you on our final league position!!!
There was no hook Billy. Unfortunately during international breaks (and Cellino behaving himself) there are few things to discuss
