I saw a right slutty one in a full burkah once, big 5" pink heels on and legs that went on forever, the wind got up inside the cape and her lower half was revealed. After that I find myself always having a look at their shoes to see if it's her.

Most of them are grotesque fat messes so I'm more than happy for them to cover their faces.

This hijab removal has been described as a religious crime. As far as I`m aware it`s not a religious requirement or they`d all be wearing them. They don`t.

A race crime. Really? when it`s impossible to see who or what is under there? Isn`t that the whole point?

I see it as a cultural statement of non integration and I don`t like it.

Let's say somebody robbed a bank at gunpoint wearing one.
Are they Asian, white, male, female?
Imagine the police asking witnesses for a description.
"Oh well they had brown eyes, that's as much as I can tell you".

I don't see no issue for a woman having to remove it to prove her identity in required situations. Apart from that anyone with an issue should do what we do with most things in our lives. Mind our own ****ing business.

It seems to me that anybody who wants to hide their identity, by whatever means, has something to hide . . . . and that, naturally, arouses suspicion

We have, for decades, accepted other cultures into our society, and this integration seems to have worked to a certain extent, but if someone wants to dress in a way that arouses, or could arouse, suspicion, perhaps they should only do so in private or in a land that readily accepts this form of concealment (even if only for their own safety) . . . . not in a country where the vast majority of people could find it offensive/provocative. This could be construed as abusing hospitality, wherever it happens, and, of course, it might be the intention of some, and it's definitely working

I picked up my son at middle school the other day. Saw one of the other students in ninja headgear and skinny jeans. I felt sorry for her. Didn't know it was a peer thing.

 

There will be massive peer pressure to wear, as well as pressure from older brothers, cousins and fathers.

 

I didn't say always Hefty. Just something we've noticed with some of my wife's family's younger generation.

 

There should be no debate about the Hijab, it's a legit piece of clothing and if anybody is offended by them, then they have deeply rooted xenophobic issues.

It is, most of the time, worn by choice especially in this country. Only a few countries force women to cape up.

Nobody has a problem with Jewish women wearing the Sheitel, so there should be no problem with the hijab, these women are entitled to their modesty and their privacy.

The burqah and the niqab are totally different.

 

Someone please answer, why would any woman feel the need to go out in public in this country while wearing a burka?

To me, one way or the other, it's a symbol of extremism.

 

I consider myself as liberal as they come, Tel, but even I am becoming quite shocked at the number of young girls wearing the headscarf. I'm not sure if it is a passing fancy but in the last few years it is the sheer numbers which has alarmed people. We aren't used to it.
