Saw him inside his tent but I was only a kid then so even though he looked massive I don't know if he was the height he was made out to be or not.

The silver waltzers where supposed to be the fastest. All the skinheads near the Shamrock, I think I remember there where two shamrocks. I remember the first time I learned how to sit on the railings on the speedway, I thought i was bloody ard.

When I was really little I was told the floor dropped out of the Cakewalk while you were on it. Never went on it, never have. Too scared.

Never ever saw a coconut or a pomegranate except when the fair came. Now they're as common as apples and oranges.

    True this.

We always came back from the fair with a coconut. Drilled holes in it and drank the milk then threw it onto the concrete to break it open and knawed the flesh out.

Still the best way to use a coconut. Although I'm currently roasting a medley of vegetables and halloumi in coconut oil. Extracting oil from a coconut. Who knew?

Pomegranate? Didn't see the point of them then. Don't see the point of them now.

Food that you can only eat with a pin. In which Universe is that a sustainable diet plan?

Remember living down Brooklands Rd when I was about 4 years old and going to the shops opposite the petrol station for my mum's ***s and the Fair people pitching up on the grass centre reservation! My grandma telling me not to talk to them otherwise I might not be seen again! This would be a social services case nowadays!

Went yesterday afternoon it was an array of appalling hairstyles, neck tattoos and people with missing teeth, if litter dropping was an Olympic sport some of these people would be dead certs for the gold. Love the fair, the Bratwurst stall at the top of Walton Street near Parkers was well worth a visit - just about the best fair food I've had. There's some ****e imitation Wrights Brandy Snap which is like trying to chew lengths of copper pipe- vile. Avoid this poor mans Wrights at all costs.

My grandma would tell us to get into the understairs cupboard when the women came round selling pegs and lace.

We used to bang a 6" nail into them then drop them off the top of the old air raid shelter.
