Liverpool come back from behind to win at Swansea - they begin to look a very strong outfit this year

Northwood were leading 4-0 until the 70th minute and eventually drew 4-4!

Jay Demerit played for them, didn't he? I played cricket for Northwood Town (shared pavilion etc with the football club) in the 1980s...a very good club but enough of a sloping pitch to make bowling uphill hard work!

I used to go to watch the reserves at Northwood regularly. Met GT in the car park one game and he was proper miffed but wouldn't say why and was not his usual self. A couple of days later we read that our main transfer target, a Russian striker (can't remember his name), had signed for St Petersburg and I guess GT had just found out.
I refereed there a coupler of times. A friend of mine was scorer for Northwood CC (on the hill by Mount Vernon Hospital) and I partook of the facilities there on many an occasion. I played my cricket for Denham.

Oh dear! Old men reminiscing at the drop of a hat. You've got me thinking about my time in Mt Vernon hospital now. I haven't thought about that in years.

Swansea sack Guidolin and appointed Bob Bradley - Brian might tell us more but don't think that is much of an improvement at all!

Loathe the guy but he has a good Championship track record. Funny - I remember all the abuse Cardiff fans used to give us when they were heading up to the Premiership. Such a big club they were, more supporters, Wales number 1, better ground etc etc. Pleased to see them struggling

He does have a decent track record, so, when all others attempts have failed, why not?

It could be worse - they could have signed Hollowhead.

To give him his due, when we beat Sheffield United 4-1 away live on Sky in 05/06 when they had a man sent off, he did say that even if they played the whole game with 11, we would still have won.

I watched one of the games from the opening round of Australia's A- League yesterday - WS Wanderers vs Sydney FC. The result was a bit of a surprise, 4-0 to Sydney, but an even bigger surprise was the attendance - nearly 62,000. Made for a terrific atmosphere.

Today's League 1 results mean that Wimbledon have climbed above the team that replaced them in the Football League, MK Dons. Great stuff :)
