Police in London are investigating an attack on a woman who allegedly had her hijab pulled from her by two men. This story seems to be becoming more common. However, when did all this hijab-wearing begin in our country? Up here on Tyneside, I have noticed in the past two or three years the amount of young Muslims wearing headscarves, hijabs and other items of religious headgear. Some look to be as young as 11-12! What gives with young women covering themselves in what many would consider suppressive clothing?
It's dangerous times mate. Adult women are of course free to wear what they want, but forcing such clothing on young girls is reprehensible, and constitutes child abuse in my opinion.
Indeed, but there are some cases when women need their faces covering up, especially some mingers from the classy big market
You could try the safe options e.g. a shoebox full of liver, jam jar full of worms or my personal favorite wet ham
It's becoming a bit of a fashion thing amongst young Muslim girls apparently. My wife's wider family have some young girls who've started wearing them after years of not wearing it at all. These particular girls aren't being forced to wear them but they mix with friends who've starting wearing them and it's all just part of being a member of a group. My wife and daughter only wear them when they visit my wife's mum. That's only out of respect for an elder. They never wear them any other time.
One thing that bugs me is if a biker goes in a bank to withdraw cash he has to remove his helmet. Surely a full face covering constitutes the same? Yet they dont have to remove that veil.
