We've all seen them. Some are scrappy and some are okay but here are two great goals that never were. Anyone think of any others?
I remember watching that Rob Lee one at SJP. I'm still at a loss as to what it was disallowed for. Was that the game where Kevin Scott put in an own goal? Or was it Stoke?
It was disallowed for offside of a Brentford player from the Brentford goalies clearance from memory.
I mean in does say that in the actual video so bit of a giveaway... The Mendes one against United sticks out.. scored from Half way line, crosses the line by about 2 foot and lino and ref somehow fail to give it.
There was that winning overhead kick by Shola in the last minute of the F A Cup fina... ...oh no, wait... that's the last time I try those mushrooms.
Cisse vs Sunderland, disallowed for offside when blatantly on, would have completely turned the game. I don't think anything will ever beat this in terms of ridiculous decisions, blowing for full time when the ball's in mid air and about to go into the net in a micro second:
the Laws of the Game were completely different in those days now they say it's a minimum time added on so the ref can milk either way it suits him which is why we find when the 90mins and added are up we are still playing until the ball goes safe **** really because when the time is up the time is up you will find the time is never up if the ball is pinging around in our box yet twice last year when we were attacking the ref blew on the exact time
The best disallowed goal bar none... I was there that day, the ref got dog's abuse for that, the ****!. At least we beat Manure 3-2.
That goal was brilliant and would definitely stand today. Under the rules in place at the time it was offside. Must have been a tough one to take at the time though.
