The EU debate - Part III

The claim from some that there's no appetite for federalism, misses the point that we're already well down the line, and further than me and others feel is acceptable.

 

So you accept that you've got no reason to believe that Turkey will be allowed to join the EU, then?

 

It misses no points at all. What's so difficult to understand about 'there is no appetite?'

So you're not arsed about the economy nor with the fact that our unelected PM May has said the result was driven by immigration and is prepared to put that before our economic future.

But, yes, I grant you that those of us in The City were a tad bemused as to how Greece had managed to meet the entry criteria for the single currency.

 

I didn't say that at all, I said I cant be arsed to look for sources you asked for. You can interperate that any way you want, makes no difference to me.

 

I've not kept up to date with that aspect. Did Turkish citizens get free movement in Europe in the end?

Not only in the city, I work with a Greek guy who was amazed that they met the criteria.

 

But was only available for 7 years then its back to as it was. not permanent as what Germany will do.

Well, maybe not that easy, as we don't have any bloody negotiators, for some reason. Not hard though, at any rate.

 

Your position has been clear, in so far as you've been desperately and repeatedly trying and failing to rejig the words and the arguments and posting abuse when it fails. That is you being tediously true to type.

 

Most of the advice to Greece from the economic experts was that they weren't ready, and that their debt level was incorrectly calculated, but once in, they were deemed credit worthy and spent like a drunken sailor.

To suggest that nothing was learned from that episode - given the cost to the likes of Germany in bailing them out, is pure folly.

 

See this is what you guys do, which is jump to conclusions. I voted REMAIN. Just because I challenged this belief that we are somehow going to control Brussels by being in the club, when history would show that this is not an accurate assumption, does not make my opinion any less valid than yours.
