There are over 1,000 unaccompanied, mainly Syrian child refugees in Calais. We should let a fair proportion of them settle here IMO, whilst putting a stop to road sweepers , latte makers & benefit tourists

There was a London News item (on the BBC) a few month back about a Polish guy being looked after by HM Prison Service because of his Pick Pocketing activities. After his prison sentence he was to be deported back to Poland... the TV guy asked him what he was going to do in Poland? The guy said he was coming straight back to London because he could earn £2,000 a day stealing on London Underground. Refugees are not economic migrants, I know a guy who was forced out of Uganda as a child who now co owns an electronics Company employing about 20 people, he proudly tells people that his family have never taken a penny from UK taxpayers and in fact have paid many £'000 's into HM Government. He is proud and grateful to call himself British now
For every one like your friend how many are filling their pockets from the public purse? Sure someone could produce the stats of those making up the backgroynds and ethnicity of todays prison population.
I think you have to make exceptions where 8 year old Syrian kids who have lost both parents are concerned.
Why? How bitter will they be in ten years time and who will they blame? Greece, italy, germany, france and all the serb/ croat nations are safe and they went there first. Why come here? They havent landed in calais by accident.
