I know Weaves (Paul Weaver who wrote the article) quite well - he's a Brighton drinking buddy. I look forward to seeing him when he gets back to get the full story.

Either way, he should have just come in and said "sorry about the other day guys - you know how it is, it gets boring doing the same thing day in day out with you guys. Shouldn't have done it though, so apologies. Right, so about qualifying...." and everyone would have put it to bed thinking "oh, maybe the man-child has grown up a bit".

    But no.

With Andy winning as well, I wonder if this is the first time that a British man and woman have reached the finals of the same tournament... in living memory, at least!

My dear old dad passed away, 9 weeks ago, at the ripe old age of 93.
Since then the family has discovered a wonderful "Our Family Album" that he had compiled, without anyone knowing.
Wow, what a wonderful book, full of old photos, hand written stories and so many different things. Also in there was the very first Valentine card he sent to mum, and the receipt for their wedding day catering and room rental for the reception - the princely sum of £4.14s, for 26 adults and 1 child.
I have only had a brief look at it, but was wondering, in this day of digital memories, if anyone would put together something similar, today.

In amongst the photos was this one, which I hadn't seen for many a year. IMG_1076.JPG

Hats were produced by the guys at Fords, my brother in law (centre) helping to make several. We wore them with pride at Wembley.

RIP dad, and thanks for the many happy memories.

Talking about snapshots from the past (as St Badgers great find from his Dad), I saw a programme looking into the info that can be gleaned from wills. Did you know every will ever proven in court ends up in a vast archive that they are digitising at the moment...presently there are 80 million (though this will go up as more people write wills these days). In that archive are wills of the famous and the unknown....there is one will of a WWI soldier which consists of a small notebook with a bullet hole through it and another which asked that his money went to a girl (who but for the will of God would have been his wife....in his words). Equally sad were a series of wills written during the Black Death....hastily rewritten as one by one the family died. It will be fascinating seeing what they turn up during digitisation.

Trump said to be losing support because of a video containing lewd comments about women....how can this be a surprise. Everyone knew before that this man is a bit of a trollop...he made dubious comments about his own daughter for heaven sake.
