We started well first 20 mins it was all us on a different day we could had 3 or 4 Cairney didnt do enough for me tonight and i agree with theo he is a luxury player a luxury player who tonight did no decive passing at all always the easy option and then just strolled around watching the game pass him by. We lost the battle in centre midfield the plus points were Brady when he got service Dudgen did well and Rosenior was quality and he looks like he really cares. Bad points Fryatt his worst game in a city shirt Hobbs is not ready to be captain and its a worry when we have to play Barmby as a foward for a full half? No wonder Simpson missed his chance his confidence must be shatterd.
Cairney played decent with the ball but he's shocking when were defending he doesn't track back and more importantly he's got no bite for a centre mid, he's got so much talent but frustrating when he bottles a challange or watches his man stroll past him
My god i can not believe people are slagging TC off. You are idiots. He never gave the ball away once. He gave the best moment of the first half and the best moment of the second half. He was excellent. The midget next to him is sh1t. He gave the ball away 3 times and with a better pass from Gary TF KP would ahve been in on goal. Brady for all his skill took too many bad decisions in the first half and didnt get it in early enough. Has anyone mentioned the bizarre situation of Ade staggering back onto the pitch then sitting down just after half time. While NP did nothing. Nobody warmed up total fuk up. Then NB comes on!!? Fukin disgraceful. Get Simpson on.
My thoughts on tonight are not to come on here directly after we lose a match and see a load of massive-overreaction and ill-informed comment.
First game of the season, a close one, one were we had most of the chances, they nicked it with a very well taken volley and some of you c.unts are behaving like spoilt little boys. You claim to be supporters but you are not any type of 'fellow' supporter that 99% of other supporters would like to be associated with. Grow up or Fcuk off, cokcs
Forgot to say, this is a young team that needs proper, positive support. If you think berating them, slagging them off, unfairly criticising the very people our club relies on will improve things then you have NO idea and no intelligence ! End of moan, to the rest of you 'proper' supporters keep the faith. Oh by the way TWF, you are still on one ignore list! And yes I don't expect us to win our next two away games, but I do expect to enjoy more wins than losses this season and a mid table finish. You obviously don't remember the last twenty years and being a bandwagon fan you only use to promotion and the EPL
You're a really shabby little man, you slate your own team(allegedly your own team) after one game of the season, you're a ****ing disgrace. You slate Barmby as you have a completely irrational hatred of him, he played well, if you're going to slate someone, then go for Fryatt for missing his chances, or Koren for going missing in the second half, or Gulasci for just looking all round dodgy. Your slating of Barmby, based purely on your dislike for him, rather than what he did on the pitch, just makes you look a knob.
Took the words right out of my mouth OLM. For me Cairney looked slow and off the pace; when he did recieve the ball he made a few neat touches but he doesn't appear to be the midfielder we need who can run a game. Barmby coming on for Ade was a strange one, I expected Simpson to come on but Barmby showed why he can still be an asset by creating the only real chances we had. Shame Fryatt and Simpson left their finishing boots in the locker room. All in all some positives, some negatives but it's only one game FFS, lets see where we are in 10 - 15 games time. UTT
Ok, so what was so awful about the tactics? I saw nothing wrong, nothing majorly unique but a system that will seem to work. Overall it was hardly a bad performance, no-one for me stood out to be awful, Mckenna didn't look great, and Matty Fryatt missed chances, but he will get us goals this year. Its like a bunch of FC fans, we ahve one performance and the manager is the problem. FFS grow up. There are 45 games left, we could go on and win every single one of them, who knows. People assumed we would run this league, there was never a chance of that.
When/if you pull a girl do you kick her out of bed if she is not up to your high standard after 30 seconds.
Taking absolutley nothing away from GTF strike last night i couldnt help but see cairneys lack of awareness when he strolls passed him, he went to press GTF quick lay off and just kind of gave up and watched him run past
There are some positives to be gleaned out of last nights performance, the defence was mostly organised and will only get better, Brady played well once he got into the game, can't understand why Cairney is getting trashed, he played well and hardly gave the ball away unlike Mckenna. We need goals and it looks like a repeat of last season with our lack of scoring prowess. God knows why Barmby came on when he did when everyone in the ground except NP thought Simpson should have come on ! It's only 1 game, 45 to go.
As far as I could see last night was a game between two well-matched teams and both had chances to win. They took one we didn’t. On another night it could have been a different story. My only criticism of City is that we didn’t press them when not in possession while they did. @ Percival can you tell me why you didn’t respond recently to my series of questions about how much you enjoyed the goals and performance against Liverpool when your name was clearly among the browsers? Then after a fairly dormant period by your standards you suddenly return after our first defeat with glee and post this thread. You don’t need to respond to this for my sake because the answer is obvious, but there are still a lot of thick sods on here who haven’t worked you out yet.
No mate, I just don't start panicking after one game which we were unlucky not to win. It's better to get behind the lads and team than to post a load of negative knee-jerk reactions.
im a massive barmby fan, but i agree, he shouldnt have been on so early,...simpson fluffed big stlye in the lat minute, and to be honest we probably need to dip back in the transfer market on last nights evidence, but he at least showed with his pace, he offered somthing, i think father time might finally be catching up with barmby, seemed half a yard short to me..
TWF doesn't do optimism or cheering. It's hasn't and will never be his thing I'm afraid He stays low during the good times, just waiting for something to whine about.
Yes, I've moved into a new flat without the internet, I check the forum on my phone a bit, but don't really reply to anything. Last night, knowing I couldn't get a train back after the game I stayed over at my parents who do have the internet, hence I could come on here. Hope that clears things up. Also, I didn't go to the Liverpool game so I couldn't tell you whether I enjoyed it or not. So there you go.
