That sounds really frightening. Our kids are just so precious aren't they? Great to hear your story has left you with that feeling of positivity about people in general but also health service workers. They do a fantastic job despite a background of lack of funding/ over worked/ unappreciated/ low morale.
I heard a quote the other day, along the lines of negativity is like Velcro, positivity Teflon. This board is probably a great example.

The Docs & nurses working in hospitals up & down the country perform miracles on a daily basis. They'll always have my upmost respect & admiration.

Really glad your girl is on the mend & looking forward with a positive outlook. Good luck & best wishes to your whole family.

This shows how good boards like this really are, we get to share our real life experiences. One minute we discuss occurrences like this and the next we are swapping curry recipes, (Sometimes get a bit of footy thrown in, which reminds me, is the takeover nearly complete? Or has Mr Phelans long term contract been sorted yet).

Im glad your daughter is doing something so positive and getting on with her life after the little hiccup. It shows just how complex and amazing these bodies of ours really are. We get all this fantastic stuff going on under the surface and then cover it with this cheap skin that tears and scrapes so easily :cheesy::cheesy:

What can one say? For total strangers to rally round in this day and age is in itself fantastic, we hear so much of the 'Me' generation who tell us they don't give a f**k to anything and have never undertood, or experienced what we knew was a communtiy. This is community in action and thankfully your daughter got help and attention when she needed it most over 18. I hope she can lead as normal a life as possible in the future as I have known terror when a family member has suddenly been taken ill, you go into total shock and it often seem to be when only yourself is around at the time. A good story even if it's a football forum it was worth mentioning.

Nothing crazy about it at all over 18, I treasure my time with my grandchildren before they grow into adults and become someone else, cherrish your daughters comfort by you being there, in fact don't let her go if that's what helps her. My 2 children and 2 grandchildren, have grown into adults now so my younger 2 grandchildren get my affection, its a cliche but they are not children for long so cherrish it whilst you can. Best wishes.

    Kids eh?

Mine are all in their 20s now and it doesnt get any easier.

Glad you got the response initially you did, and I can't talk highly enough of anyone in our great NHS tbh.

She'll learn from it, you'll learn from it, you'll both be better, and closer too by the sounds of it. Its all good.

If you need the lad "sorting out", just ask btw :bandit:

It won't seem like it now, and certainly not to her, but the seizure might not have been as bad as you might think in the long term.
She's obviously found the break up very hard, and it's clearly affected her, but at least this has brought things to a head rather than any potential gradual downward spiral
Hopefully it has put things into perspective for her too and she can focus on the good things she has rather than her feelings of loss (which I don't think is exaggerating tbh)
She's obviously got a loving family round her, and no doubt in the future she'll be able to look back on this as a moment that started her recovery instead of an end point
As I said before I wouldn't underestimate the impact that a break up can have. Maybe not now but at some point it might be appropriate for her to seek help for any hidden impacts. I know loads of people who've had counselling for various things and it's very rarely that it doesn't help in some way
Anyway for now just enjoy having her at home with you ... and encourage her to learn to drive .... so she can pick you up after City! ;)

    Its true.

I split up with my missus when we were engaged, for like 6 weeks. Of course there was a happy ending as we got back together and been married for 30 years now.

At the time though, she took it really badly (understandably), and stopped eating. Lost about half a stone, and back then she was only like a size 10.

Thinking about it, I might chuck her again, see if she can lose a bit now.

I hope your daughter makes a full recovery. Also hope she finds the right person in life. You are also part of what is good about this little community we have on on here. Best wishes.

Great post Dennis. She was already seeing a counsellor but I think we need a different type of counselling. The good news is is she is going back to work on Monday and I have found out that the first aid lady is going to be awarded from her work. The weird thing is that this same lady ( she isn't aware) was training my daughter a few weeks ago.

So pleased your daughter is on the mend.
It must have been terrifying for you. Hope everything goes well for your daughter.

Tell her she will meet someone far superior to her x one day and end up glad she never stayed with her x. Life is strange like that .

The NHS is a great thing and I have never met a bad nurse or specialist in over 8 years @ castle hill or scarborough mac unit but I have met lots of BRILLIANT ones.

All the best to you and your family.
