Welcome to the Barmy Boris world of Brexit.

So, if you're thick as pigshit, but own a U.K. passport, the FO are happy to listen to your sage advice?....great!!

I think I have enough about me to read between the lines of this statement
't has always been the case that anyone working in the FCO may require security clearance depending on the nature and duration of their work.'

It effectively confirms that the Foreign Office decided they didn't want EU nationals advising on the EU.

That is barmy, but do the FO need to do that for now, to prevent any leaks?

How does anyone's nationality have a bearing on their level of trustworthiness?

Positive discrimination is illegal. It still happens, but is described as 'positive action' and focuses on encouraging applications from the relevant groups, the process is very carefully worded and acted. The BBC is a prime example.

It's still wrong, as it undermines the very people it's supposed to help.

You are correct, foreign office policy hasn't changed and so while we are leaving the EU, EU nationals no longer pass security clearance.

Is it really that hard to follow?

Just to be clear, this is what Sara said before the media picked up on it
'UK govt previously sought work& advice from best experts. Just told I & many colleagues no longer qualify as not UKcitizens'
'1/Thanks for all reactions.I stand by fact there is new tone in UKgovt business& I had specific rejection re advisory work as not UK citizen'
'2/But am proud to be part of outstanding experts @lse & @ukandeu who value diversity, integrity in addition to professional expertise.'

So LSE experts have suddenly become potential spies in the new crazy, paranoid Tory world we now reside in?

You mean the grammar school girl who went to Cambridge?

I bet she got high grades but has never had to work in a garage.

Or do you just not like her as her parents were working class immigrants?

    You bigoted, obese failure.
