It was a silly pen, as opposed to soft. He did shove him in the back (he didn't just put a hand on him - watch it again, because he was embarrassed that he'd ****ed up). I think it was a carry on fro the fact that they'd been shoving and shouldering each other as the ball bounced, but the spin took Firmino in front of him, facing goal and about to shoot. You can't just shove someone in the back in that circumstance, and had it been done to an Everton player you'd have called penalty all day long. And you damn well know you would.

 

It wasn't a pen, but the card was harsh as there was (legitimate) contact as Studge tried to squeeze through a gap that wasn't there. He could have stayed up, but that don't necessarily mean it was a dive at all.

Don't suppose you read one of those eagle-eyed, impartial 'pundits' in Rob Draper of the Mail? After asserting it was a soft penalty with the gentlest of touches, he then goes on to add that Liverpool's equaliser was lucky in that it rebounded straight to Milner (sic) before he apparently dinked it in for Geronimo. Wonder how much these people are paid?

I was bought up on molby and whelan and they was a joy to watch. The younger ones on here would have seen Alonso masch and Gerrard.

Trouble is players like Lucas and Henderson should have learnt from these types. Not be escalated to some sort of status they don't justify.
