You need to have a redesign because familiarity breeds a kind of complacency.

Just no way you'll get as much time on the ball this year though and certainly you'll have to learn to be more patient without the ball as a lot of Prem teams can hold it longer and stretch the game a lot quicker.

Question for you....would you rather see your lot play open attractive "Blackpool" style football and go back down or have a backs to the wall blood and thunder "Stoke" style first season and stay up but without the attractive footy for a season or two?

Think you contradict yourself here. Clearly if the cup run cost them their PL status then it's because of lack of depth?

I see your logic in the squad depth argument, but i think it's also part of what hinders teams coming up. They bring up a few too many players not quite of Premier League standard, so whilst they have squad depth, they don't have depth in quality. Would a smaller squad with more room for manoeuvre in the market help perhaps?

It's easy for us fans of 'established' teams to get complacent and write those coming up off. I will watch you guys with interest, and give you an open-mind as your results come in. However we can't help but see that Scott Sinclair was your best player last year, but he couldn't make the Chelsea squad, and was only a squad player for Wigan, when Wigan themselves only survived on the last day (i understand the poor standard of sports journalism may mean you rate your guys differently from what we have to go on).

Then how many players of Sinclair's quality do you have in the squad? Looking at Wigan, they sold N'Zogbia and still have McCarthy, Rodallega, Figueroa, Watson, Al Habsi, and Moses who are all good players, and they still struggled. Birmingham went down with a strikeforce that cost more than your entire team. Wolves have just signed Johnson for more than your entire team cost. Blackburn have significant backing. Bolton Wanderers were the next place off relegation and they were given rave reviews for their football, amongst which Elmander (again costing more than your team) hit a rare vein of form. Point being even with an unlikely contribution like that (which they paid heavily for) they still weren't far off the drop.

Look forward to seeing you guys and if you can take something from Blackpool without ignoring defence (something they only addressed in the last few games), then of course you can stay up. Welcome to the Premier League, best of luck, but i'm afraid that's why i'm not putting my money on you staying up!

If you're going to plagiarise a quotation at least make it relevant...

I know you Spuds have difficulties with conversations sometimes so here's a quick lesson for you...conversations tend to have a beginning, a middle and an end. Thus someone says something...then somebody else replies and so on and so forth until they decide they have exhausted the subject, can't agree, have run out of time or have just been bored to ****ing death. Obviously most conversations with you will lead to the latter.

Good question.....Ideally I would rather let our seasons play naturally evolve into something that would keep us up, a bit more steal with a continual aim to play football..... it is and always has been the swansea way.
Given the choice between the 2 options though I would rather stick with our formula and continue to build our club and ethos even if it meant relegation (as long as we could come straight back up stronger and more wisened)
I will take burning like a bright flame for a short period rather than being a forgotten ember/footnote (as it was the last time we played in the top flight when we beat all the big boys and led the league..... for a while!)

Anyway...it's not going to happen, as a glass half full guy it's Champions league for us next year <cheers>

The fact that you think a conversation has to end when people don't agree on something says quite a lot. For most half-intelligent people that is when a conversation really starts, as there is opportunity for debate.

The fact that you took that from what he said makes you come across somewhat pathetic. He gave several options, so why distort what he says so you can nitpick because you don't have a decent comeback?

We understand why you're bitter, after all we all predicted your Champions League season was a flash in the pan, but the times lasts season when you briefly believed you would win the league must have rubbed salt into what are now probably very sore wounds. Top 4 to stay you declared. Liverpool in decline and Spurs on the up! Many of your fans queued up to stick the boot into us. Working out well that one isn't it. Madrid will leave Adebayor, he will be your major summer signing and Spurs will remain in mediocrity. Good luck to Bale when he joins Utd next summer though! He should follow Modric's advice because he's convinced you're going places. Oh wait...

Thus I gave a variety of options as to how a conversation can end. I think the phrase "we'll have to agree to disagree" (which is often used to end conversations) seems pretty apt right now don't you reckon? Tool

It will always be the paradox of a team making it in the big flight on how much to spend/how big etc. However a good cup run did not help Birmingham,Portsmouth and Middlesborough amongst many in recent years. I merely say that, as we will no where near have the financial clout to have a squad to fight on all fronts. If it is survival in the Prem or even just as a club we crave then it is to keep a tight grip on the finances and squad and make as good a fisrt team as possible. Any more than that will be the death of a club who has always made a big deal about being owned partially by the fans and maintaining an annual profit, if possible. We have no benifactor and I believe to do anything else just to survive in the Prem (for our club) would be folly.

I guess we will have to hope those in and around our first team are good enough and stay injury free.

Sktels nips. Fair comments from you but our manager is up to the task, i hope you find we are a different kind of team to what you have been used too coming up from the championship. Im sure we will hold our own against the mega bucks pros we have to handle. We managed to keep most of our team together and they play as one unit very well and with the additions rogers making it shouldnt disrupt but enhance our threat to the opposition. We do not fear any teams and have always thrived when we are the underdogs. In Rogers we trust S.T.I.D
