Yesterday’s claiming race winner GILMER was claimed by Brian Ellison. His win 24 hours ago was Gilmer’s 5th since May (which has, In the process, seen him rise 20 lbs in the ratings) so you would have to wonder how much improvement there is left in the 5YO. Fascinating to see if old boy Brian can work the oracle… Wow, that’s a monumental drop in class for Highly Toxic. Group 1 to claimer in 17 months! He’s also a full-brother to a Group 1 winner (Chinese White) so certainly has the lineage.
Clearly Ellison sees potential for Gilmer to achieve more than he has done under the tutelage of Mrs L J Young (under both codes, one suspects).
Highly Toxic NR. Maybe someone bought him before he ran Edit. Sorry Barney; didn't refresh the page and didn't spot you had already announced it
After a gap of a week the second qualifier under this system (well since its has been being scrutinised on here) runs today. There is a claimer at Royal Windsor (3.20) and the clear top weight is SKEAPIING. Still a maiden after 13 races will today be the day for old boy Skeaping?!?
Everything seems to be going well…very well…here thus far! The 3rd runner for the system is out of the morrow at Chelmsford – AWAIT THE STORM (5.55). Trained by Hugo Palmer he’s still a maiden, after 5 runs, but has been campaigned against some classy stuff such as The Last Lion and Global Applause. Tomorrow’s race sees Await The Storm as the only colt or gelding in the field and he is opposed by 7 fillies!
Good luck with your system, Barney, but it seems a bit slow-moving and it will be interesting to see how it progresses. As I remember, the best system- either Flat or Jumps- has always been in National Hunt racing. Novice Chase favourites (non-handicaps) have always given the best return. You simply keep to the same level stake and double up on losers until you win. Yes, you need discipline but I should suggest any member try it out. You will not be doubling up on losers for long and prices will be short but you will certainly make a decent profit.
Yep,Tam its very slow moving just 3 bets so far (including the one tomorrow) and I’ve had a scan of the cards and, from what I can see, during the period Friday 7th – Tuesday 11th there are no further claimers so after tomorrow there won’t be another ‘possible’ until a week today at the very earliest. It is doing well at the min with SP winners at 15/8 and 2/1 (and that’s doing it a bit of a disservice as respectively 11/4 and 100/30 were available in the morn re the winners) but it’s obviously far too early to rush to anything conclusive about the system.
The system, had its first reverse last evening then when Await The Storm went down by half a length. The front pair 5 lengths clear of the 3rd though.
It would be interesting to know the longest losing run Barney. 1 in 3 success provides a profitable return with a staking plan
Not wishing to bend the system but that loser was in a 2yo race. The logic of this system can't hold up in 2yo races surely. I would exclude 2yo races from the system. It may still produce a winner but I would definitely exclude such races.
Not only that, the horse did not actually start as fav SBC - so under the terms of the system that would mean a 'no bet' surely?
