Is Theresa May really the best the Tories were able to come up with? She seems to be totally muddled

Given that Labour have supported virtually everything the Tories have proposed, perhaps they should have handed the job to someone with greater public appeal, credibility and nous - Corbyn springs to mind... :)

I think you are being too polite Leo. In football parlance, "you don't know what your doing" comes to mind.

It looks a bit smoke and mirrors and a def 'muddle through' approach with the media at the mo. She surely knows the mess we are in and daren't acknowledge it............

So after 18 days the newly elected leader of UKIP resigns. The in fighting in most of the political parties is on a level that I cannot remember seeing before. The referendum has not only split the population but also the people who were elected to run the country. It has given a foothold to the extremist views of both left and right with the moderates of the centre ground being sidelined. These are dangerous times for many countries with outside forces quite happy to see discord, hardly a time in my view for experimental politics to be tried out.

You are right - it beggars belief to see how totally split each of the Parties are.

I see UKIP have gone from ridicule and disaster to even more - a reported punch up of MEPs in the European Parliament leaving their latest candidate of Leader seriously ill in hospital

According to one newspaper, he was punched by UKIP MEP, Mike Hookem. Should there be an apostrophe in that surname?

It has been reported Woolfe suffered two fits and had bleeding on the brain. He is now said to be conscious and recovering though. There are conflicting reports over whether UKIP defence spokesman Mr Hookem, a former Royal Engineer commando, has been arrested or remains wanted by police.

With their leader quitting as well it's hardly the sign of an United party but then who are?

Although of course this is a rather extreme and unpleasant incident.

But none of it differs from what one would expect from Blackshirts.

Judging by the appointments Corbyn has made very little effort is being made to heal the rift in the Labour Party.

I think he likes to come over as avuncular but in reality he is as extreme as Labour were in the 80s and Momentum are the same. He feels he has an increased mandate so can do what he likes - in terms of the shambles Labour are in he is probably right.
