Jesus christ. It's like we're relegated...... YES. It was a poor game and we should have got at least one point with us. There were some disappointments (Gulacsi, McKenna and Fryatt) to mention some of them, but it could have been much worse. I think we played good in periods, and we did create loads of chances. Fryatt had an awful game and will only improve after this. I reckon that he should start together with Homer or Mclean (who actually works his ass of which proved helpful against Liverpool) when he is back. My already good vibes about Brady improved. Will be lethal in future games. We gotta involve Koren more We gotta get Cam Stewart back And I would like to see Ayala join the squad I am still confident that we will improve our position from last season. One game doesn't mean anything. Both Swansea and Norwich lost their first games last season... So.... please log in to view this image
Everyone is pissed off because we've sat and watched this same crap all of last season. No goals, lose by the odd one at home in a game we dominate. We've signed 6 players and spent a fair amount to change this, and absolutely no difference.
Aware of that. It's just tiring to read all the negativity. I'm almost missing the 500 threads about the Fantasy League
After any match there will be severl threads debating the performance, tactics and future selections.
1: We didn't dominate the game 2: You can't say that after 1 game, be back in 4-5 or so if it hasn't changed. 3: Every team has their bad games
Well said Febbos The main thing bothering me is the thought that Fryatt will probably never be dropped, as he's Pearson's pet. Not that I'm saying drop him instantly, but I don't want to see any special treatment given to favourites, which clearly happens to much in management. I would hope that Hobbs would be dropped for Ayala if we brought him in, and would like to see Simmo being given more than 5 seconds of each game. There's no way Barmby should have been brought on, he can't last 45 minutes, and even though Simmo skied his one chance, Fryatt was hardly better. If anything, I would rather watch him sky a shot than see Matty fail to shoot at all.
There's no evidence anything is going to change. Pearson's had a year now, replaced practically the whole squad, and yet still nothing's changed. Honestly Febbos, I can't wait until you're in the UK, you'll be able to watch City week in week out and see why some of us feel the way we do.
Aware of that, no problem with it. I just think the whole "we're dommed"-thing is tiring to read after 1 game.
There's no evidence that nothing aint gonna change after 1 game. Haha, we'll see about that. I'll probably just be pretty damn happy just to be there. And you'll see that we'll improve
Well said Febbos, you'd think we'd lost the last ten games in a row instead of losing the first game of the season one-nil, when we probably would have won had the strikers done their jobs.
I said to OLM on the Leeds board that the main concerns for Hull would be experience and quality. Against Blackpool, the team looked like it was lacking both. Then again, with a team including so many new faces and youngsters, let's be honest, it's going to take a while for the machine to be in full working condition. Lots of parts to be lubed up. Get your lube out, Nigel.
I only saw the second half, (I live in Reading) the pub that I expected to show the game, that I asked the prior evening and the same afternoon, decided to screen the Paul Scholes Testimonial, which I think was Man Utd vs New York, instead of the proper game. Instead of a game that meant something. Anyway, I thought that the game showed a very promising footballing side, from what I saw, we played a good game, but couldn't quite get the ball in the net - lack of match sharpness, was my impression. Blackpool scored a very good goal. And they have an underrated manager, who I think is actually quite exceptional, especially considering his lack of experience. Whoever the team is, under Ian Holloway, will have a good shout. I think it is a fantastic result, as our odds of promotion will lengthen, and I think we have a reasonably good chance of a top 4 finish. I live in Reading - the season that they got promotion to the Premier League - the first game of the season they lost 3-0. And went on to get the record amount of points I believe...correct me if I am wrong.
Sensible talk form our sweedish friend, nobody likes home defeats but they are part of football. We move on, a point at Ipswich and we are on the edge of mid table. We are rock bottom of the league, the only way is up. There are 46 games in a league season, just saying like.
so are we gonna give these young lads a chance or is that it ... one game and many are on their backs :/
So we lost 1-0 to a decent team, i told you to many people where underestimating Blackpool but what do i know. It takes time for a team at times, there are two teams on the pitch and not both of them can win. I have no doubt in Nigel Pearson's ability, look at his track record. We where all loving Matty Fryatt before last night, now all of a sudden he is awful, well the same people criticising him where the same one's building him up. He will get us goals. Whether his partner upfront will is a different question. In Nigel we trust.
