Sometimes I think it's forgotten that Bournemouth have a very wealthy person backing them. They have never been minnows in financial terms.

Never is a long time. They were nearly bankrupt.

Look, however won't be able to do much more with them so imo needs to be very wise with his next move. There are 3/4 prem jobs where he could have a decent shot at a cup that would not sack him for not getting Europe or something.

Unfortunately one is Southampton... so they are out.

For him to grow he needs to consider his future very carefully.

I reckon Koeman will be done with Everton in 2-3 years time, Howe is a boyhood Evertonian .....

Either prove yourself as a manager at lower league level or be fortunate enough to be groomed at the club and work through the youth teams and learn from the top dog.

I think he would do well at everton for sure.

I would tend to agree on kowman but i dont know where he thinks he will go. I reckon he thinks he ought to be working at barca but hes a very negative manager

Well. I suppose it ties to discussion on english players wanting to be managers.

Mr koeman got out of southampton just at right time as his signings last season were awful and they look poor now.

Shrewd is what i called it i think.

He took them to their highest top flight league finish in 30 years last season?what the actual **** are you on about ? <laugh>

Off the back of losing 7 of his first teamers across 2 years...and having a negative net spend.

Shrewd indeed is what they call it.

Think what he meant was he got them as high as e was ever going to considering they can't compete financially to keep their best players. He was only ever going to plateau or drop down, possibly tarnishing his reputation slightly. Get out while he got them as high as possible

He said the signings were poor, but he took them to 5th with them?

    It made no sense

Its mito... you have to read between the lines, then ignore what you think he means and believe the opposite.

Like most managers his signings last season, the one mito was on about, were a mixed bag - Juanmi flopped and was sold on in summer, Romeu, Clasie and Austin were all below par. But you know mito it could be one of his famous bluffs or double bluffs <laugh>

    well maybe.

If the intent is to maximise wage yes. If the intent is to work at the very top then moving is important.

exactly... if you look at southampton's signing year one koeman had a huge success rate with the players brought in. In year two however it was not so good.

    Cédric Soares £4,700,000 meh
    Juanmi £5,000,000 who cares
    Cuco Martina £1,000,000 who cares
    Jordy Clasie £8,000,000 not great
    Oriol Romeu £5,000,000 hmmmm
Virgil van Dijk £11,500,000 A hit
    Charlie Austin £4,000,000 meh.

    year before

    Dušan Tadić £10,900,000 Hit.
Graziano Pellè £9,000,000 Hit now gone
    Fraser Forster £10,000,000 hit
Shane Long £12,000,000 hit (even if he can't hit the back end of a bus)
    Sadio Mané £10,000,000 huge hit
    Florin Gardos £6,000,000 meh
    Saphir Taider Swap mehe
    Ryan Bertrand £10,000,000 hit

so bascially..... koeman did do well but I beleieve he knew the score there's 4 huge hits i nthat first season which really helped. they struggled last year for 3/4 months then got on a good run. Pelle and mane were off... so I am sure he was delighted to move.

This is what i call shrewd... Good move by koeman and the next guy along looks to be struggling now.

Its that simple.... koeman has a good finish to last season but he knew it was going to be hard to repeat... plus 5th last year? heelo.. everton implosion.. utd were 5th btw.. cheslea implosion... LFC muck... west ham gave up as well.

Southampton went on a good run and improved from 13th in January to 6th in may.. I don't think they were going to repeat the trick and so koeman was dead right to move.
You lose mane and pelle... well if everton lost lukaku and say barkely or whatever and you'd struggle to improve.

IMO jumping that particular boat makes koeamn look very smart in my eyes.

What about him promising he'd stay? Lots of players do it and then they're off which is why we all say once a player confirms he's staying, you know his agent's got him a 'better' deal. But for a manager to do it - bad form and a lack of integrity plus why leave a set of loyal fans in that way? Everton are a much bigger club than Southampton that's not even up for discussion, but in todays terms and performance wise, they are on a par. Doesn't bode well for Everton long term and as they say - if you want to know how something will end, look how it started.

Wouldn't be shocked If Barkley was sold tbh he's not consistent enough either good or missing...
